2.0 Evade tokens.

By Rakaydos, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So hypothetical- 2.0 Whisper decloaks for an evade, then hits a target for a second evade. Then an Xwing rolls 2 damage and whisper rolls 2 blanks.

Is there a known 2.0 rule that more than 1 evade token cannot be spent on the same attack, or are we assuming based on the 1.0 rule1? Did the limit to number of agility dice make the rule against spending multiple evades unneeded?

I haven't heard yet. Devs have discussed that multiple calculation tokens can be used on the same roll. Evades might be the same way, but I don't think we know for sure yet.

Quite the opposite. There's no longer a limit to how many green tokens you can spend on a single roll per Alex at Euros. Focus, calculate, or evade.

Interesting! Directly from the Second Edition Rulebook:

“While defending, a ship can spend an evade token during the Defense Dice step to change one of its blank or [eyeball] results to an [evade] result.”

This is similar to the wording on Calculate, but it does differ from the description of Force tokens which states “a ship can spend any number of [Force Tokens]”

Option 1: You can only spend one Evade or Calculate per die skirmish. This is based purely on the use of the phrase “any number” in the Force Token description.

Option 2: you can spend any number of Evade or Calculate tokens per skirmish, because it doesn’t say “only one”.

And one more data point: I’m pretty sure I’ve seen in a video with the designers that you can spend multiple Calculate Tokens per skirmish.

With all that said, I’d be in favor of spending multiple Evades per skirmish. Hopefully this will be clarified in the Rules Reference or FAQ.
