New PDF Discrepancies :)

By Sir13scott, in X-Wing

Let’s compose a list of all discrepancies or weird information given in the latest article/PDFs. :) yes I know things can change in 2.0, but worth mentioning still.

leebo doesn’t have a talent slot but the demo list had lone wolf.

jumpmaster5k doesn’t have a crew slot but Punishing One title says to remove crew slot.

Fang fighters don’t have a mod slot but have been show with afterburners and it even comes in the pack.

Bonus: 2 upgrades listed haven’t been shown anywhere, Agile Gunner and Composure (Talent).

What else do you find? :) And remember it’s all unofficial and subject to change so let’s keep it light

they said in an interview that you would be able to run 3 almost or completely naked bro-bots or two fully kitted. But they are 70 pts, so that won't work.

They said they were pretty sure... but yeah definitely can’t do that now :)

not even sure if i'd want to run 3 naked brobots but then again being on medium bases they could be a bit of a threat even naken. Their original issue was that large base was so easy to abuse lol, they were one of the VERY FEW large ships that hated being large.

Since this is a living document i suspect they didnt care about getting it pristine right off the bat. People rage over something being incorrect, "Oh, sorry, there its fixed!" two days later.

True but that’s why I thought it would be fun to just collect the discrepancies so we can watch them change :)

yeah the change to medium base was needed for them

I wouldn't be surprised if quick build lists override the standard upgrade slots.

Yeah I mean they’re for a separate game mode so they aren’t necessarily for regular play

That would suck. In my opinion quick build lists are there to ease list building for inexperienced players. Not to break the rules.

And additional they created a lot of false expectations. I could even say they used that probably on purpose for marketing.

Moldy Crow missing from Scum list.

The option option is; When they decide to remove an upgrade slot from a ship they now have to errata every quick build of that ship, that uses the slot.

No, for more simple to say Quick build cards are always taken at face value.

Anyway I am sure they have released this to get some testing info from the community and will adjust it on release again.

And what on earth were they supposed to do for the black squadron Pilot? Shield Upgrade+Outmaneuver only gets you to 40 points (And that's the most expensive combination for a Tie Fighter), and 2 threat is aproximately 50 points.

Good catch

Why do people keep forgetting afterburners?

Afterburners is also 8 points (As is stealth device on a 3 Agility ship) So our max point Black Squadron Ace could have any one of those modifications. My point was we're still 10 points short of a 2-threat.

YV has 3 crew but 0 Gunner slots. Odd because Bossk is a Gunner.

Yeah was really planning on putting Greedo on pilot bossk

I desperately wanted Han/Perceptive Co-Pilot/Lando. Not sure what the go-to build will be now.

Just let them be threat 1 (with only crackshot?).

Or just make them cheap threath 2.

But dont break rules.

This whole threat system is kind of vague / rough anyway.

I think Guri has a focus instead of a calculate.

Only thing I see here that's really off is the JM5K's title. Everything else was conjecture and hope. Threat cards are super basic and will not follow the rest of the normal 200 point game. Yes it seems weird from them to be off from the start, but once changes starting coming down the pipe for points and slots, they'll grow outdated quickly anyways. Demo lists could have changed since the time the demo was given and where they are now.

Afterburners may come in the Fang, which doesn't currently have a mod slot. Perhaps when it finished early testing and went to print, it still had the mod slot. Continued testing showed it to be too strong and the slot was removed maybe? Always in motion the future is, slots and points are no longer static people.

Guri has calculate action, focus for ability.

Yeah I think they looked at Fenn + Afterbuners a little more closely and went NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Haves and Have-nots are highly negotiable now while wording on cards should be as indelible as possible. So they may want to make the card more inclusive as proof against future changes.

I think we are talking more on the printed lists not articles because they have been known to be incorrect at times. So point/slot and upgrade/pilot conflicts are what we are looking at.

So now that JM5K only has 1 torpedo slot restored to it does that mean it can never take the title or if it ever gained a crew slot then the title will cause it to lose a crew slot?

A title that removes crew a ship didn’t currently have isn’t really a problem. It’s just future-proofing in case they add that slot. I’m sure we’ll see more of that.
