Thrawns Finest

By Angroth, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hey all.

I tested a variation of the following List with Chimaera title and such and came to this list as a conclusion of things that I feel didnt work out as effective as I wished.

I am sure that some will recognize main parts of this list as it was in the top4 of the Euros, namely nooby le noob.

Difference here is that I go for the Initiative bid and some other customizations. Main reason for these customizations lies in the fact that I like going first - especially with a ship like the demo or other melee fighters. If you can, give me some advice or even please explain to me why I would go for second player with these bad boys.

In general I feel comfortable with my setup, although the bid might be not enough for premium tournaments.

The thing with demo is that you don't really need to go first to get the most use out of it, and your opponent is unlikely to give you first player with demo unless they are seriously out activating you (but you have 5). I think you would be better tailoring your list for second player, dropping adv gunnery and contested outpost for most wanted and fighter ambush. The glad II isn't doing much for you here so would swap it out for the glad I and maybe stick an Intel officer on. Finally, whilst comms net is good, I would highly recommend slicer tools, it's saved me multiple times and can really mess with a lot of fleets that rely on specific commands.

I would keep the II for the double blue flak to help shred squads, and maybe even add Kallus to help vs uniques or Brunson to help keep you alive longer.

I actually thought about Kallus and had him in before. But more points means less chance to be first.

Advanced Gunnery works well with both the glad and the isd so thats why I would want to keep it. fighter ambush should be worth a try. I think it has some advantage against certain lists. It can also have the drawback of being worth nothing if my opponent has a strong fighter wing. Will test it.

You mean because of the titles ability? Can you please explain a bit more? I really just fear to lose the ability for triple tap

Oh and for the commsnet: it works well with thrawn and gives me some flexibility. I love slicer tools but rarely see a way to implement it well. in a list that goes second i suppose they work better than as first player

With demo you can wait for your opponent to move into range and then hit them because you have the ability to move then fire. I recommend it based off of my own preference to going second as I much prefer to make my opponent choose from my missions. You do require at least 1 activation more than your opponent to make it work I suppose.
