A Stereotypical Hobbit Deck

By dalestephenson, in Strategy and deck-building

No, this sadly isn't the long-awaited tribal Hobbit deck. This is the well worn Hobbit hero deck, with the very stereotypical Sam/LoPippin/TaMerry lineup. This is by far the deck based on the largest sample, as I used decks by 91 different creators to build it. The numbers are in the end of this thread:

And the deck can be found here:

The only ally tribes left are Hobbits and Dale, but both suffer from small sample size at the moment. I'm not sure what to tackle next -- I was thinking a nice mining deck might be good, but the most common lineups with the Zigil Miner/Imaldris Stargazer combo are Caldara decks, and she's really her own type. Whatever it is, I want a sample much smaller than 91 decks....

Tom Cotton would be a good indicator of the Hobbit ally deck. A Dale analysis would be interesting if only to see the most popular third hero. For a mining deck, I would go with Hidden Cache.

Tom Cotton is definitely the enabler for Hobbit ally. But at the moment there's only 21 creators who have made a Tom deck. I'm hoping if I put it off there will be a larger sample, also true for Dale -- though so far, Bard2/LeBrand/Lanwyn is in the lead.

I tried adding Hidden Cache to the Imladris Stargazer/Zigil Miner combo, but Caldara decks still were the most frequent. I think I need to drop from mining to "dwarven mining" and ignore lineups with no dwarf hero in them.

Oh, I though that's what you meant by mining; dwarf mining. I suppose there are other types though, like Caldara.

Do you think a 2 hero lineup with Strider would turn up any sort of archetypical deck? I imagine most of those decks might look fairly different from one another.

Any 2-hero deck with Strider should really be a three-hero lineup with Folco Boffin :). Still, I expect that Strider decks will have a most popular lineup (excluding Boffin, if present), and that lineup will have a reasonable number of cards in common. But it might end up being another Vilya deck.
