Well it can't be Bistan.
If we don't want to use Twitter, can we send our votes in on postcards, no purchase necessary style?
Disregard below. Skimmed the article at first:
Why do they bullet point only 4 of the 20 upgrades at the end? Trying to influence the vote?

SelflessHan Solo"Chopper"Leia Organa
Yeah, I was being facetious.

They narrowed it down to only those 4 card to vote on at the end.
The article was basically explaining their reasoning how they came to that conclusion.

There's only 4 to choose from.
Leia. Make it about flying.
Selfless, makes the most thematic sense and allows for greater diversity in list building.
Apologies to all those who wanted something other than Leia.
This poll was over the minute the upgrades to vote on were announced.
Just because I’m salty about how we’ve already started the game with major rule breaking abilities, Luke gunner.
Is that my man @DarrylM in the photo? I only met him once at GenCon a couple years ago, but he squashed me good. Might not be you, so I apologize for the confusion if that's the case.
This is one of the best articles FFG has ever written.

I’ve also only met him once in person, but that’s almost certainly him. All around great guy of the community.
As @Boom Owl said above, this is perhaps the best-written article FFG has ever released. Clearly expressed reasoning, grammatically correct, one might even hazard an assessment of "engaging."
I am very deliberately not on the Twitter platform, but if anyone out there wants to be swayed in their own vote, by all means vote Leia for me. Not just for Carrie. Not just for the elegant and eloquent presentation in the article. But because it is a thought-provoking and -requiring upgrade. It is intelligent jank, and should be encouraged therefore.
I vote selflessness because it represents for me the essence of rebel faction gameplay, survivability and teammates synergy. If I had to vote for the coolest, I would have voted like anybody, coz Leila is very fun!
Voted for Leia. She needs to fly.
Someone please vote Leia for me; I'm not signing up for Twitter just to vote.
Why they couldn't use something widely available, like SurveyMonkey, is just beyond me.
Edited by HawkstrikeShould have let us vote for Luke, make them choke on that stupid design.
With all due respect to Carrie Fisher, Leia in card form is almost as terrible as she was in 1.0. They had a chance to fix her and all we get is reusability after 3 turns.
If she truly wins the vote, I hope Scum and Empire get something just as janky and terrible ![]()
I'm super super happy with the 4 options they picked. Elites are always the most versatile, but crew is close after (mechs and gunners are a little niche as far as ships go, though still common for rebels).
Of course I voted Leia. She's been grounded way too long and Selflessness has already given too many of us too much trouble. I still like its thematics but it's honestly still a little less useful than Leia. There are games you could go through and never use it once.

Except she can be used multiple times now, and is also likely a bit cheaper (5-6 points?).

Yeah, like I said, she can be used again... after 3 turns. That's not particularly great. I mean, it sounds cool in epic, I don't think she's significantly better than her 1.0 version and I've never seen in played in a 100 point dogfight.

Soo.. twitter isn't widely availiable?

I believe the devs quoted her at 6 points. She is absolutely worth 6 points to a lot of lists.
I also voted Leia, and I wish she was the essence of the Rebellion.
But honestly, Lando, C-3PO, Chopper, R2D2 mech and especially LukeGunner are much more what Rebels are(were) as a faction: defensive, synergistic, and removing a difficult element from the game.
