Chewie’s bag of tricks

FFG seems set on making sure if you choose one faction to play, you don't have to buy the other faction to get the necessary cards, etc. For that reason, I do not see Chewie being able to pilot vehicles, especially those of an opposite faction.

Good point.

But certainly unique powers can be, and are, inherent to specific units and command cards, so I’m not sure something like this would *need* to be on an upgrade card.

That said, it seems like it *could* be. In theory, a well-balanced commandeer card, for example, could just as easily be used by a Boba Fett operative, just as a hunter card could be used by a Chewie.

This topic confuses me so much.

... the only thing in-canon I’ve heard Cherie pull out of his satchel other than semi charges was an egg, that if he and Han had been caught with, they would have been executed.

But this is CLEARKY not the topic at hand ??

A command card that is commandeering themed just might be able to work.

Give an order token to Chewie, and a remove an order token from an enemy vehicle? That's not quite right, but something that disrupts enemy vehicle activations / control could be balancable.

Or something that is similar to Max firepower / Bombardment, but traces LOS from an enemy vehicle (but uses a weapon defined on the command card) could also be made to work.

Any Ability to commandeer an opponents vehicle is totally op, and a big NPE. I played the RTS Force Commander, where Rebels actually could do that (also in Empire at War, but there it was only Chewie). And it´ s so not fun.

That said an ability to shoot with an enemy vehicle for one round like it´s your own or something like that, would be okay imo.

It could work if done right. Like make it his 1 initiative command card ability and require him to deal fatal damage to an enemy vehicle in melee, if successful replace Chewbacca's model and profile with the enemy vehicle with 1 or 2 health remaining.

Just noticed this line in FFG’s official tournament rules. Could this be a hint of the kind possibilities we’ve been discussing here in terms of using imperial vehicles?

“A player’s army must contain miniatures from only one faction unless an effect allows him or her to do otherwise.”

Are there any effects that currently do that?

It's possible, but it could also just be them covering any possible cards that come later.

It does show that they have thought about the possibility of that type of scenario.
