Does the Stormtrooper Expansion have anything added that does not also come in the Core set? I'm just wondering if I should bother with an expansion if I have 2 core sets?

Impact Grenades, but those aren't exactly an upgrade you can't live without.

There's also grappling hooks, but nobody really bothers with those. Both upgrades are also available in the Snowtrooper expansion, so Imperial players can get them without buying even more stormtroopers (They're also in the rebel trooper and fleet trooper expansions, if that matters to you).

That being said, picking up a fifth squad of stormtroopers is not a bad idea; they're the bread and buttter of an Imperial list.

I always use Fab's site to check what the expansions brings, it's really useful, not only for army building:
