Steels bane

By Kako K., in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Hi there,

i dont get how the highelf card steels bane works. You can cancel the following 10dmg on one unit during this turn. Does that mean, i declare one defending unit and play steels bane on it. Then the enemy has to assign 10 dmg on that unit first till he can go any further dmging the unit itself and the capital afterwards? Or does it only block the max dmg the unit can take (up to 10)?

Thx

If you play Steel's Bane before damage starts to get assigned, opponent has to assign 10 damage to the SB Unit + that Unit's remaining HP, before assigning any to the capital (the Unit is defending alone in this scenario).

Also, you can play it after damage has been assigned (in combat) but before it has been applied. The 10 or less damage already assigned to your unit won't damage it.

You can also play it in reaction from a card effect assigning damage to your unit.

Don't forget the LIFO system for resolution.

LIFO system? Whats that?

Last In, First Out, meaning the last Action in the chain (of Action-Response-Response...) is the first to resolve.

It's how things resolve - you may recall reading it in the Rulebook (hopefully). ;)

Thx.

Just another question, not worth opening a new thread for it. I hope one of you guys can help me.

There are lots of darkelf-cards which reduce hp till the end of turn. What happens, if a units hp are lowered to zero? Is this unit dead?

Yes. It's in the FAQ.
