Yeah, just did a bit more research, and that base is almost certainly Anaxes from the rebels episode, which features in some of the lost CW episodes.

So, I’m convinced. They are doing at least some of those lost episodes.

There was also a rough-cut animation episode with Boba Fett & Cad Bane, at one point. Now there has been a book with Boba, his team, and Assaj, but getting to see him 'armour up' for the first time could be a nice offer to fans of the scummier side of things.

I doubt FFG knew about this in advance, yet alone months ago to give them time to design, print and ship "so much prequel junk". They in general have a stellar record or being left in the dark until release, and for example Battlefront 2 devs said they learned about it when they watched the trailer.

Clone Wars factions would be exciting for me, because I have a lot of friends that won't be able to resist them. Finally a way to get them into the game! Personally I don't really care for them too much, but since i like the look of republic ships I will probably get some. CIS i might get if they have an interesting faction identity, and Calculate-related abilities may provide that!

'Dark Disciple' by Christie Golden iirc. Was a pretty good read, Boba and his crew only have a small part to play, the bulk of the story centers around Quinlan Vos and Assaj. Not the best new canon book, but certainly enjoyable.

Makes sense, the best and most original work Disney has put out since acquiring the Star Wars license has been set before the Original Trilogy.

I would love to watch those Bad Batch episodes finished up. All I could think was how we missed getting a Bad Company style Battlefront video game with those guys as the leads.

I'd agree. I rather liked that as well. I haven't read any of the new canon books that don't tie into the animated shows though.

It was weird reading Ahsoka though as I don't think I've read a book aimed at that reading level since that level would have been "advanced" reading.

After all the division over Last Jedi its funny to see people unanimously get excited for the shows return.

I actually really like her, too, but her character arc really begs for a heroic sacrifice. I had my hopes up during the end of Rebels season 2, but well you know how that turned out (and if you don’t then you should go get watching some Rebels episodes)

The Clone Wars series, as it existed, had a lot of really skip-able stuff, but a fair number of episodes were pretty good. The Ahsoka, Maul, Mandalore, and Asajj episodes tended to be on the better side, and it stands to reason that an extension of the series would include a fair amount of that stuff. Meanwhile, Filoni and crew have more experience under their belts from having done four seasons of Rebels (on average, a far better and more consistent show), so that's a plus, too.

While I've rarely been excited for more prequel era content, I'm certainly more hopeful than doubtful for this.

Yes. One of the reasons I love Clone Wars animated is that very often the entire episode is a running lightsaber fight. Heck yes, more lightsabers.
