New season of The Clone Wars

By LordCola, in Star Wars: Armada

However, I never ventured in Kotor era and my literature experience in EU is very limited both in novels and comic books. For some reason I rather here the stories from my friends who read them rather then me reading them directly. I read a bit more last night about the subject and yes, my arguement within this context is not valid at all.

Play Kotor dude, you can even get it on iPhone and Android now! You won't regret it, some of the greatest star wars out there IMO! So rich and vast in lore and excitement!

The Ebon Hawk is also the greatest ship in star wars but I could be biased ;) hehe

Clone Wars already had a final season. It included the Yuuzhan Vong too... Not that i'm complaining and I think the Vong are way better than Crying Ren and the Imperial Wannabes. But a nw season of Clone Wars is always a welcome sight, especially if they dare to take the more serious tone than Rebels took.

By the way am I the only one who feels that Anakin looked somehow weird in the last scene?

I have a total different view on tech on SW from you guys and after reading yours and other posts I understand your point and you are right, I am missing the main point and thank you for explaining to me.

For me, apart from the movies, my main source of information came from games like X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Rebellion and I was more interested about books that were about ships or fighters rather than general lore. In those mediums my arguement makes a little more sense where upgrading mechanism is done through R&D process. My main view towards Armada has been through the same concept as well.

Strangely enough, after reading a bit last night, SW universe reminds me of Asimov's Foundation series which had similar problems ( about technological process) , a general fatigue of the whole galaxy.

Glad we could help. Star Wars is a huge place and therefore rediculously confusing.

It’d be fun in my opinion to send General Grievous into battle against Darth Vader in a what-if scenario and see whose fleet comes out on top.

Clone wars has always been more serious than Rebels, they’ve kept Dave Filoni and this is fan service... it’ll be plenty gritty.

As for Anakin: his hair is longer. They’re trying to make him look more and more like ROTS-era Hayden.

I was a little put off by it even though I knew they were trying to make him look like RotS Anakin but it’s grown on me. I really like the look of Obi-Wan. His evolution in terms of style has by far been my favorite (although he is my favorite Star Wars character so I am biased).

I think Obi-Wan has probably been one of the most well handled characters throughout the whole Star Wars saga. If only Darth Vader had struck down more people in the original movie.

Of course Sir Alec was masterful in creating the character (though he hated Star Wars), but Evan built on him by showing Obi-Wan’s growth through the prequels, from being a semi hot-headed Padawan to a struggled Jedi trying to train the most important Jedi in the history of the order, and growth as a master and a respected member of the council. We see him lose so much in the Clone Wars and in RotS, and the struggle Obi-Wan and Anakin have been through together makes their final moments on Mustafar all the more painful. George may not be the best writer, but that scene chokes me up every time.

I wish Disney had acquired star wars earlier. I'd love to have seen more stories with Qui-Gon Jinn and young obi-Wan with Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor. Those were two of my favourite characters in the prequels.

The lack of new lore for the prequel Era is really a travesty. All we really have is the clone wars series. Some new books or other media would be very welcome.

I think Sir Alec's decision to walk away after the first movie was a great call. I'm glad it forced a change in direction that led to Empire being the great movie that it is. I was never a fan of the prequels but Ewan McGregor is an amazing actor. For me he's basically defined Obi-Wan as a character. He will always be who I picture when I think about Obi-Wan despite Guinness being first.

The old prequel continuity had so much good content that in most cases I still revert to it due to nostalgia.

A class 0.6 hyperdrive and a fuel range of 250,000 light years, I can see why one would want to make a star frigate out of this attack transport.

Maybe I should finally sit down and watch TCW now...

I love the Vicotry Star Destroyer and have since it was incorporated into Star Wars: Rebellion

but when I could choose to include a single ship into the Clone Wars show it would be the:

Bildergebnis für Dreadnought Star Wars

And it would be the perfect: 1 Wave, three factions (Old Republic / Galactic Empire / Rebell Alliance) gapfiller ship for armada.

Just imagine this a Wave Y beside a new Clone Wars Core set.

FFG is no stranger to making canonical units under-powered compared to what they should be. If we were really adhering to lore, VSD-IIs are speed 3 as it was one of the features in the refit to make them better suited for ship-to-ship combat. Additionally, B-Wings should be just as tough as Y-Wings and hit as hard as an X-Wing. They don't.

Good point on the VSD-II, but the B-Wing should be a bit tought than Y-Wings (only a bit tougher because they are much easier to hit in the first place) and NOT hit as hard as an X-Wing. They have less lasers (compensated by Ions though) and are MUCH less agile, making them worse dogfighters thany Y-Wings.

I get that. But he seemed... I don't know.. His eyes seemed like he would be a drug addict..

Clone War Era needs a good set of transition ships and since Solo missed the chance to introduce such ships properly ( eg. Dreadnought and VSD) maybe new ObiWan or Fett movie will manage to do that ( if they have some space battles).

FWIW, with the 'Clone Wars' series back on...done by the same team that did 'Rebels'...I'd remind you of the scene from the 'Rebels' episode wrapping up that series, "A Fool's Hope", which gave us...

I mean, I'm not saying it's a sure thing that it means this is appearing in the 'Clone Wars' final set of episodes, but...aside from a cameo shot in that 'Rebels' episode, which they almost never put the time into a model to do unless it's used elsewhere...well, we haven't seen it anywhere else, so...

Vader... I'll bring obi-wan as my general ;)

That's the dark side secretly brewing in him

TLJ Kylo Ren is vastly superior to the Vong.

It occured to me that there may be some kind of "dark" story arch that shines some more light on Anakin's eventual turn and that it may be shown on his characer that way.

Theres a number of hints throught out the clone wars already....my favorite is where there is some one threatening the duchess Sabine infront of ObiWan explaining why neither of them can kill him when anakin comes up behing him and kills him anyway

Which was absolutely the right call anyway. No matter how “righteous” Kenobi may have wanted to appear in front of Satine, he had a duty to stop the guy from killing everyone, and Anakin saved his bacon. ?

Not to mention his whole reaction during the “Obi Wan just got killed as far as you know” arc.

Speaking of arcs in Clone Wars showing Anakin's struggles with the dark side, how about his dealings with Rush Clovis and jealousy over Padme? I mean in one episode he even gets into a fist fight with the guy and nearly kills him until Padme's personal guards show up. Or his reaction to the Zygerrian commanding the CIS troops in another episode. But I would not mind seeing additional arcs dealing with his turn to the dark side in new CW content. As for additional media like @BlueSquadronPilot mentioned, word has it that there are new books coming out from the prequel era. One of them is supposed to be an Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon story set before Phantom Menace which could be interesting if it is dealing with his time on Mandalore we hear about in CW.
