With seeing some with issues getting expansions they preordered, FFG distributes their merchandise in a very unique way. Those stores that sell and support their games, are more likely to receive larger shipments and get them on time compared to those who don't. Only 1 store in the Omaha area will get their shipments in on time and get a good amount compared to the others in the area. That is because they support the games and sell the most product.

Ex: With the new Destiny wave, one of the stores in the area just got their shipment yesterday and explained that they got it late and only 2 cases due to not selling enough.

I'm one who also likes to shop local and only at my FLGS. They're reliable, obviously friendly and will answer questions. I recommend preordering at your FLGS or through FFG, depending on how long you want to wait. Going through "3rd party sites" can cause problems such as cancel, never receiving it or waiting forever for it.

It’s... somewhat flawed thinking in the fact that FFG doesn’t make that decision... that’s entirely up to the distributor (Alliance in the US, Asmodee Canada/UK in Canada/UK) to who receives them...

... and support has nothing to do with it.

For example: The Sentry Box is the largest general gaming store in, well, basically the world, with every FFG product supported in great amounts, and they are ROUTINELY shorted.

Trying to ascribe a formulae to it is going to be circumstantial at best.
