Objective: Capture the VIP

The Raddus dropped Victory I in the middle of a bunch of things. It did some damage to Jerry's flagship and another Arquitens, before being ripped to shreds by Decimators and everything in Villa's fleet.

The MC75 activated last, lined up arcs on the very wounded Arq and the VIP carrying corvette, destroying both at the start of the next turn, before jumping past the Torpedo Frigate and running for the hills.

Villa destroyed my squadrons and tried for the MC75 before finishing off a Gozanti in the last turn.

A good game!

Thanks Villa.

Villakarvarousku: 188

MOV: 108 (7/4)

First player: Villakarvarousku

Objective: Solar Corona

webv's Victory Raddus'd in on turn 3, but got fairly quickly destroyed by an MC30 double arc, a Decimator, and some long range fire from the Arquitens and CR90. However, the Torpedo Frigate ended up double arced and swiftly blown up by the MC75 while webv's squads burned through both of my Arquitens and most of my squadrons. My Decimators and CR90 managed to finish off the Quasar on the final turn.

Thanks to webv for a great game!

These battle reports are a nightmare to follow as its not obvious who owns which ships :D

mhd versus @MandalorianMoose .

In a game beset by technical difficulties, I bested the Armored Ungulate from Mandalore 386 (or so) to 44. I'm somewhat hazy on the score since it was really late, I don't entirely know what he had on his ships and after we shut down I realized he never activated his last Arquittan that was close to going off the table, he thought he was tabled, but I'm assuming it didn't and he wasn't.

We played my Advanced Gunnery. I basically tried to delay the ship engagement with my Thrawn run GSD and a Cymoon until the later turns and avoid scrapping early with his Ackbar powered MC75, Home One, Arquittans, and dual gozantis. Why? Well, 4 decimators and 2 gauntlet fighters needed that much time to strafe his tanks. The flaw in my plan was that with projection experts and that Exodus fleet title, he could pump air into those **** ships faster than I could poke holes in them, the MC75 probably absorbed over 40 points of damage before exploding from a double front shot from the ISD. Ackbar's pickle died the last turn to the Gladiator, but Moose activated the wrong ship and could otherwise would have iced the ISD with an ackbar gozanti side shot and the score would have been inverted. As it was the isd limped away with one health.

MadaloraianMoose was a good opponent but it was too late for both of us to be really be playing.

Lessons:

The exodus fleet is stronger than I thought.

Ordinance pods are really, really unpleasant and forced me to play more strategically and snipe from the rocks with my squads.

Gozanti + Ackbar, is also not to be underestimated.

JJs Juggernaut (1st Player) vs @Villakarvarousku

Objective: Capture the VIP

268-107 (MoV 161) 8-3 win for JJs Juggernaut

I was able to use a cheeky sideboard play to give myself the bid and first player. With my activations and range I was able to pick apart Villa's ships one by one. His JerJerrod CR90 was able to snag the VIP and run from danger, and his Decimators chased down my gunship Quasar after it made it's attack run.

His VTs have a special place in their hearts for Quasars, chased down mine too...

Bit of a theme here..

TY JJ for organising.

@ExplosiveTooka vs MHD

177 to 161 (6-5) in her favor.

A good tense game that was largely a squadron battle that she edged me out on. Like most good games, it could have swung either way all the way through the squadron phase at the end of turn 6. Really well played on her part.

Dr Alex vs @Realadmiralsdoitinspace

Initiative - Dr Alex

Objective - minefields

score - Dr Alex 233, Realadmirals 166

MoV 67

7-4 to Dr Alex

Thrawn pulled an unexpected master stroke killing himself on a asteroid and his own minefield simultanoiusly, but the dastardly Darth Vader escaped in his Raider meaning I got a very paltry MoV and a very consistent 7-4 score for all three games .

Pod4 is done

@Karneck vs @CaribbeanNinja

First player : CaribbeanNinja

Objective: Firelanes

I had the bid and chose to go 2nd, CN choose my Firelanes and I deployed very defensively so that I could delay engagement with CN's fleet for as long as possible. Both sides threw some pretty weak die throughout the game but ultimately ships started to bite the dust.
I claimed all tokens every round except for 1.
I was unable to kill CN's Victory in order to table the remainder of his fleet, but it still came out in my favor.

Score
Karneck 255VP + 235 = 490

CN 15VP + 167 = 182

MoV 308 10-1 to Karneck

Very well played game by CN, sorry to be lame and have an Ackbar farm list, doesn't make for very exciting gameplay but gotta roll with what I got in the draft.

Pod 1, Dupy vs @moodswing5537

Moodswing 1st. Most wanted.

Dupy wins 480ish to 85 pts. 10-1

Mov i believe was 397.

I gotta say, I was a bit terrified of the Vader isd, raider ii, arquittens, and af2 fleet. Vs my vsd, 2 hh, cr90, glad leiah fleet.

He aligned his kitty and af 2 right off center, his isd and raider on far left opposite my vsd and hhs. My glad and cr90 challenging his kitty and af.

His flankers turned broadside to the left , my glad and cr90 sped up and cut in front of his side shooters. His isd cut arced left toward my vsd who was side stepping towards the left side of the table to keep raider on view. My hhs, covering the flank of the vsd. Round two my cr90 went too early and ended up eating a load from the kitty and isds side leaving it at one health. Both the kitty and af2 left themselves both double arced by the glad, who wiffed with 1 damage to kitty, thanks to the station, was able to double ram the kitty with no damage to me ? . The isd came into range and ate a ton of dice from both HHs. One at long, one at close range. As well as from the vsd. My bombers started working the isd as well. The Isd was feeling the heat, running out of tokens and shields after my fighters finished the round.

Turn 3, isd went first and completely obliterated my expended hh with 11 damage, then finished off my cr90. It also moved into side arc of vsd. Next, the glad put just enough into the kitty with 3 black to finish it off with another double ram ? thank you station. Was able to trigger acm on af. Who returned fire accd glad brace, and hammered it leaving it at 3 health and some shielding.

Vsd caught the raider in the front arc and shot a lot of dice out side at isd.

My bombers finished off the isd at end of round 3.

Turn 4, mood led with the af and just couldn't kill the glad. He caught a rock. The vsd went, finished off the raider out the back and shot af. Trailing hh shot af, then bombers finished it off to end round 4. And me with no one left to shoot at.

Thank you @moodswing5537 for playing on short notice. You are a gentleman and play a good game. Cheers

This was truly a fun game. I never would have thought that HH's could throw that many dice. Looking forward to future games with Dupy.

jp82729 vs @PartyPotato

jp82729: 445

PartyPotato: 148

MOV: 297 (9/2)

PartyPotato was first player and we played my Superior Positions. His squads chewed through mine pretty quickly, but I was able to get more double hits than expected with my Arqs. Ackbar's MC80 held on by the skin of it's teeth to escape. Great game with a great opponent.

LTD vs @JJs Juggernaut was played today, with a 6/5 for LTD! Woot! etc!

I was flying Raddus, MC75, Vic I, 2 Gozanti, 1 CRB with the Overload Pulse, 2 X-Wings, 2 Tie Fighters

JJ was flying Thrawn on Cymoon, 2 Hammerhead Scouts, Quasar with boarding teams, Nebulon B.

I decided to bid for second as we both had 5 activations, and I thought I could force him into my arcs - my missions were not ideal, but I thought they would be better than JJs as second player's missions, since he had Lambdas in his bucket list, and I thought he might have some kind of fish farm arrangement.

JJ also decided to bid for first, and removed some stuff for a handy bid. He outbid me, and chose to go first.

He chose my Opening Salvo, which I had put in my list on a lark to see Gozantis fire the extra dice - plus 5 warships with guns is always nice.

I plan to do a Task Force Orange video report for this one, but that will take a few days at least, so wait for that for more information - EDIT: I botched the logfile, so there will be no report.

I think this brings to an end pod 5. I have played my 3 games, and have 15 tournament points total (two 6s and a 3).
