Long Term Plans Question

By Strmtrpr81, in Star Wars: Destiny

Simple Question just to clarify. Each turn when I Exhaust the Plot to add a resource to it, I do not have to take one of my resources and add it to it correct? They just used resource as the way to keep track and cards that move damage from one card to another cant affect the plot?

Thanks in advance!

Correct when you are instructed to put a token on a card it just spawns a token from your stash.

It never required the damage to be in play somewhere for things like Backup Muscle so the fact that people suddenly think you need to use your resources for the resource tracking cards baffles me. I've been seeing this alot.

or as a better example, the Resistance Bomber. Wheres the damage come from when you resolve the die? Same exact wording, different token.

Yeah, I wanted it in "Writing" mainly because my one friend always has an issue with anything that can be taken a different way, that's all. I knew it worked that way just wanted it verified. I hate my friend! lol

people like that are mainly trying to deny something from working as intended because they dont like it.

Long Term Plan may sound super powerful but since it takes a couple turns to actually be a threat, the 3pts different an Elite character die could contribute could easily have done more work. The reason its still good is because its basically a free wildcard modifier turn4 onward your opponent cant do anything about, which can easily help finish a character off.

Its the ONLY card with wording that way with tokens that would make sense to require you to spend a resource or simply move yours onto it. The rest do not though, i.e. the Boonta Eve Classic plot (what is the point of getting 4 resources if you put the resources in yourself?)

Oh wow, I had assumed you had to feed resources to Long Term Plan

It was ruining opponents even with that misconception...

Been using it with eRose, double Partisan (even had Bartering to help get resources off, as well as facilitate Second Chance via overwrite) and by round 3 you start discarding more than half their hand or dealing double Partisan indirect damage

But if I don't gotta pay it, it'll also start farting out resources with the partisan dice

It also has the same wording as Remote Stockpile, and ive never seen anybody argue you put YOUR resource on that one. Since that 100% defeats the point of the card.

it was my own assumption due to how powerful i thought the card was

it's got the exact same wording as the XS ship, so yeah there's no reason it requires you to pay up

Actually over the course of the 3-4 turns you are beefing it up the 2nd die from most characters (Rex for instance) will do just about as much work.

The difference is in exchange for slightly slower up front damage you get a heavy wildcard modifier your opponent cannot mess with.

I was playing a 5droid deck and forcing my opponent to constantly do indirect damage to me or removing his dice all together. Usually if he rolls indirect i just let him resolve it, but when that plot has 2-4 resources on it i need to remove it too because that adds up QUICK.

So this is hardly meta material, but I ran LTP + eRose + double Partisan against eAnakin, JJ, and eRose

My opponent's deck was far more capable of farting out vechiles than my own, and I soon found myself pretty heavily outnumbered

Something ridiculous like my 1 Hailfire, 2 Crait, and 1 airspeeder vs Anakin pod, 2 Crait, Hailfire, resistance bomber, two ARCs

But that's where LTP comes in, after two rounds the discard sides on Rose, Partisans, or Bartering (which also have a focus to generate more discards) wipe out more than half a hand.

Between that and the trickle of indirect damage (partisan mill) I almost won just by milling the poor guy out. Ended up actually just slaying him with vehicle dice because he couldn't mitigate anymore

Had same results v DJ back when I thought you HAD to pay. Can't do **** damage with all that mitigation? Np, just need a single discard side. Dj basically mills himself by playing mitigation as is

Almost didn't even bother rolling in vechiles (just use Hailfire ping to trigger Partisans) until I wiped his hand
