Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 25 total ship cost

4 TIE Bomber Squadrons ( 36 points)
1 Dengar ( 20 points)
1 "Mauler" Mithel ( 15 points)
1 Soontir Fel ( 18 points)
1 Black Squadron ( 9 points)
= 98 total squadron cost

But what do you guys think? Does this list have potential? What needs fixing? How does it need fixing?

Needs Ruthless (FCT wants screed), ECM, and Ordnance Pods on the Kuat (you don't have to worry about squads with ord pods/ruthless on the kuat). Bomber command on the Zanti, and more bombers in lieu of soontir/black and even dengar.

That's 9 tie bombers and mauler, much more damage, much better solution to the anti-squad game, and better use of thrawn overall. Otherwise it's fine.

I do not believe you are. Paging Dr. @Drasnighta

As long as that dial is USED, or turned into a token (which is FAQ allowed) and then that token is used....

... it’s a small distinction, but if you don’t say you’re using it (even if to do nothing), you don’t get to claim you used it... as it’ll just sit there otherwise...

Thanks Dras, always my hero.

Can I put you on speed dial when I TO for the first time in a couple weeks? Cause I've been wading through the rules forum... and it's sticky in there.

I thought the FAQ that allowed you to get tokens from thrawn also ruled thrawns dials dont trigger ET?

ET is resolved by RESOLVING THE NAVIGATE COMMAND.

It doesn’t care the source of the command, only that the command was resolved.

It is as Dras has already mentioned, as long as the navigate command is resolved, it doesn't matter which dial does it or if a token is spent. It fulfills the prerequisites that card (and other similar cards) require.

You can't, for example, token thrawns dial and then try and use ET, because the navigate command was not resolved, unless the token is spent.

When thrawn came out the assumption that nav as the universal command would be the 3 thrawn dials. I myself had posted after his release and my initial tests that this seemed the most obvious course of action for him.

This led to him falling Off in competitive use and getting overshadowed as not that great.

Reality is you are underusing him.

I stand confidently by what I said. ANY list using for him for all nav dials needs a different admiral. JJ would be better than thrawn for your purposes in that fleet above. Second would be vader.

I vaguely recall that. I was playing rebels mostly back then, so I don't remember your work on it, but maybe it was in one of your threads that I talked about it? I know I've commented on this before. I do remember later in my use of him as I got more confident in maneuvering the third dial shifted to engineering often. But this was a double edged sword as some activations, it saved the ship, but others would still rather have had the nav to disengage or arc dodge and cost me a ship.

Vader did become a spin off of this fleet composition concept to Max out the fire power, at other locals suggestion, but it wasn't as fun and ended up suffering from engagement/entertainment issues. JJ underwhelmed, only having the first click proved aggravating for the ISD, and to control speed of the Arquitten I still needed a dial anyway, which my play style did alot even if I ONLY changed the yaw of the first or second click anyway. And taking a damage for bonuses against the swarm of fighters our meta had at the time proved too costly to boot. Which ultimately, was why I stopped playing him myself. And then there was Raddus blowing up all over the place. Don't follow the competitive meta that much so I won't speculate why it left. There's no data I could use to support a case one way or the other.

What I can say is, sometimes the most natural move is the right one. I learned that in X-wing.
