My main question is if I buy Howlrunner, Iden and Del Meeko can I fit four Academy Pilots in or am I locked to a 6-TIE Swarm at that point. And if I can run 7 TIEs, is there' room for Wampa to replace an Academy?

If you get to build all that for 200pts then TIE Swarms are going to be seriously fierce!

... but Winged Gundark? What happened to him? You could have easily fix him up to be useful in 2.0 ... use the bullseye for his crit...

So something that popped into my head, that will be of no comfort to imperial loyalists, is that another reason that black squadron got the axe is due to the Resistance.. Poe, Snap, Jess Pava and a few other characters from the comics are members of Black Squadron - it seems that the squad name is now canonically full of scum.

Mauler Mithel's subtitle is "Black Two" and one of the generic TIE/lns is "Black Squadron Ace", so I doubt that's a factor at all.

More likely, they were given a directive to bring in Inferno Squadron, and hope to bring back the rest of the Black Squadron pilots in future expansions (such as a 2.0 version of the Gozanti, as one possibility).

The biggest issue with this is that even if you want inferno squad (I sure as **** don't), they would have made a good candidate for a second TIE expansion with a different paint job. Package them with the 181st as an "elite" imperial pilot pack. One Fighter and one Interceptor with alt paint would have been an easy sell.

The worst part is they may be trying to retcon rudor into being a member of black squadron, because that's his new art, in the deathstar trench, replacing backstabber.

They didn't even bother to use his callsign of Black Three like with Mauler, just "Braggadocios Baron." As an aside, whoever came up with that awful line.... My contempt for you and your family lineage can't be written online without flagging the FBI...

I don't think Vader would put up with him for long. I don't think they're trying to make him part of black squadron.

Max Brooke did a lot of the subtitles, so he's probably responsible for this one as well.

That's kind of what I was thinking as a squad. J have a limited collection so a Defender plus mini swarm has been on my to-fly list since 2.0 was announced.

Not given his track record of incompetence - beaten up by Rebels in person twice, having two TIEs (one a prototype) stolen, and letting a rebel cell escape because he didn't know the sewer hatch in the bar he was running was unlocked.

Problem is, if word came down from LucasFilm to promote Inferno Squadron, then that's what FFG would have to do, even if they would have preferred to do Black Squadron now, and use Inferno Squadron later.
