Looky here:
TIE/ln article is up
Cool stuff. I wonder why they moved Wampa’s ability to a new named ship but kept Wampa in the game?
I really like all the ways to get an extra die, but isn’t Trajectory simulator just going to remove swarms from the meta if it’s less than 10 points?
Just want to point out that Seyn used her (his?) pilot ability to cancel a hit-crit to do one face down damage vs a 1 green die Y-wing at what looks like range 2. Worst case, that does a crit. Does that count as an article mistake? Do I get a cookie?
"This miniature is accompanied by ten ship cards featuring unique pilots, four upgrade cards, a maneuver dial, and all the tokens you need to add one of these swift starfighters to your squadron."
Ten ship cards, a.k.a. Pilots.
Dang. That's a lot of cards. That just made me wonder if they would possibly print the cards double-sided like the ship tokens. I mean, how many TIE ship cards come in the core set? Then add ten more to this.
Shucks, the TIE/ln should just be a 2 pack to begin with. Two ship models for such a basic ship would be awesome to me if I was a noob.
What's up with the Juke card?
...just for clarity, the term "evading" is definitely like a weird anomaly on the Juke card that's not a game state a ship can be in as defined by the 2.0 rule book thus far, right?
I mean...it's just short hand for having an evade token but like...from a technicality standpoint, it means nothing. A new player could either interpret "evading" to mean having taken the evade action OR currently having an evade token, right? The only reason I assume the latter is because that's how the old Juke worked. This is kind of a screw up, in terms of applying game rules to cards.
I think terms like "Evading" and "Focussed" will be defined in the rules reference guide. Both terms have appeared on cards we've seen but neither are defined in the rulebook.

"Evading" means you have an evade token. Just like "focused" means you have a focus token.

Cool, cool. Thanks for the info. What's the rules reference guide? I'm not familiar with that document. Is it separate from the 2.0 rule book and when can we expect to see it? Thanks for the updates.

That was my assumption, I just didn't see it in the 2.0 rule book anywhere. Do you have a citation you can link to? Much appreciated.

The RRG is a thicker booklet that acts more like a glossary of rules and definitions. Not sure if the original Core set had it but the Force Awakens one definitely did. I think the split comes about because FFG still treat the Core set as a self-contained game experience, like a board game, and the rulebook in the box only really deals with the rules for the contents of the box, with a few exceptions for some extra actions like Calculate and Cloak. The RRG is a more complete guide to the game.

the new RRG will be a digital document on the FFG website. I don't believe it's been released yet. Maybe by GenCon, most def by 9/13. I hope.....

I was wondering as well. It just seems unnecessary and is asking to confuse 1e players. It's not a huge deal bit the devil is in the details as they say
For those of you wondering who Seyn is, SHE was one of the members of Inferno Squad on their first major mission. She was in the Inferno Squad book, and Died prior to the video game taking place.
probably wanted the ability at PS-4 to PS match the rest of inferno squadron, but also wanted a PS-1 named pilot, and knew people liked wampa

To quote Yoda; “you must unlearn what you have learned”.
It seems that the better abilities are being assigned to named canon characters.

I’m not sure, Wampa’s new ability is pretty interesting as well. I think it will see a lot of play. Not as nice as garuanteed damage through, but still dope.

Buying this pack is a bit situational. All of the cardboard in this pack is in the Imperial update box, so if you are buying that there is less reason to pick this up. Maybe if you want the new paint job, but not sure how different it is going to be from previous versions. Buying a new X wing for example is a no brainer possibly, due to the new sculpt. Or it depends on what the distribution of generic pilots is going to be, if you want a swarm of one pilot type you might get this and an expansion pack to make up the numbers.
As of now and I say this as a collector of everything, this ones not high on the to buy list unlike the new sculpt ones.
I want 10 TIE fighters ******

I agree, however, as someone who only buys one of any given sku, getting another TIE is not bad for me. If you play Aturi cluster, you can never have enough TIEs.

Did you watch the TC video? Both (all) of the killed TIEs were one-shot. Blanked out on four green dice.
