Fleet building time!

Well, I have a lot of free time at work and today I spent a bit of it on fleet building. I was working on Triple Cymoons for awhile and wanted to make a change.

Here I basically downgraded 1 cymoon to a dictor with support duties. I loose quantity punch but I also won quality punch with those xi7. I wanted to try projection experts at least one in my life and I think they could be handy considering I am spending defense tokens to hit harder. I thought to change Blockade Run to Station Assault but it placing all obstacles and moving them seems to fun. Basically I hope to be able to fix shields while at long range making the long range trading shots more maddening to my oppnent.

This one is intended to be the eventual dualISD I will play at nationals maybe. I never play Pryce so I wanted to try. It seems a good way to get a shot at something wit the Cymoon. I put it on the non-flagship ISD just to avoid backfiring. 5 activation long range quality shots (xi7+Vader) with support fire from my gozantis at the same time they feed my fleet commands. EF for engagement control, StM for tankiness when engaged. I had 13 points bid so I added Hardened bulheads just for fun. I didn't try them yet but looks cool against rammers, path blockers and extra damage at the same time it saves some to me. If Pryce doesn't work I could go just with Tua+ECM.

Why not Grint on the Interdictor? Yularen is just there for repair tokens, right?

Yeah, I dunno. I put Grint at first but then was wondering about the differences.

With Grint I only have the token if I do engineering. So I cannot resolve two commands unless I waste one engineering dial first round (no benefit from Grint). With Yularen I can do the same banking a token and if I want the full effect I just do engineering (what I must do with Grint anyways). I could save 2 points though but not sure what to do with them. So basically he is there to allow other commands, not just for repair tokens.

I think Cymoons are the least appropriate ISD variant for this archetype. With TS for your defense, you really want to get those ISDs into close range to get TS applying; but with Cymoons, that's the last place you want to be.

I've done this with a pair of ISD1s and Jerry before and it works extremely well. That was W5 (or maybe 6?), though, so Kuats would probably do well with it also.

I'd at least swap out one of the ISDC's for an ISD1/ISDK, to give you a primary heavy hitter. Keeping one Cymoon for a sweeper would probably work, and use the ISD1/ISDK to run point.

Lots of space to customize the upgrades. EWS/ExR -> ACM/OE to go more aggro, QBT -> XI7 if you don't want bid, Grint -> Wulff if you want flexibility over bid, ISDK -> ISD1 BTVenger if you want the one-shot threat, etc.
