Hooked Legs

By Hepitude, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Something random I noticed, but each of the new heroes either has those weird z-shaped back legs, or has a mount with the weird legs. Is there any way this was a design choice? Seems like a weird coincidence...

*INCEPTION BWAAAAAH*

The quadruped hind legs are a classic way to make things look more beastlike. So for th'uk tar and vorunthul makes sense, the golem cow, of course, is a cow. And faolans chocobo/raptor has chicken legs.

Now where's my goat-riding goblin horde?

It's waiting for my dinosaur-riding orcs to charge first

I’m just hoping those hooked legs make Thuk’tar a good Cav upgrade. I want a champion upgrade (figure or not) for my rippers that works

I would imagine the beastmaster should work well with the beasts (flesh rippers and threshers). If not that would be a major design fail.

I'm happily running Ankaur Maro in 2x3 of Death Knights ;)

Seriously though, a cav upgrade for Ardus would have been nice to actually use that slot, and the "borrow surge" ability would make more sense with them than the only-red (i.e. low surge) Reanimates.

Fair enough. Waiqar does have more legitimacy to the “my Cav heroes suck” trophy.* Their new hero gets them a new Infantry Champion and heavy. So Death Knights got jack.

Still, Kethra - who rides a Ripper - is a lousy upgrade for Rippers, though good for infantry. I really want someone or something insane enough to go full “Running with the bulls” with a horde of skinless meth-crack-phetamine zerglings. ...I mean Rippers. Thuk’tar seems game

*That trophy is actually a gold painted Lord Hawthorne cavalry figure.
