Is Maul any good or would it be better to trade up for a second Tarkin or Aphra?

Maul hasn't been as good as people have hoped, I guess is the best way of putting it. I think he's still GOOD, but your mileage for vary. If you want a strong, thematic character that will be instantly recognized from folks - keep him. I really enjoyed the time I spent playing Maul/Talzin...very thematic, Talzin helped with his only having 2 damage sides. But...it hasn't been seeing as much competitive success as some would like. So, if that's your goal - might consider trading him.

Tarkin can be a beast in the right build. Aphra I think is only getting better as time goes on and really got a boost with 0-0-0 from this set and cards like Hailfire Droid Tank. So...lots of options! Good luck on your deckbuilding!

Maul is one of those characters that can be really mean, but the current cards are barely keeping him away from being mean. Hes solid but not top tier, i suspect if even 1 upgrade comes out that he loves he'll become a massive threat quick though.

Tarkin in the correct build (generally with a modest amount of dice) can be mean, but you gotta do it right. I like him with seventh sister because she adds another die to the pool for existing and grants access to blue cards so before i remove 2 blanks i can possibly play Anger (play if you have 2 blanks, resolve an opponents die showing damage as though it were your own) and THEN deal 4 indirect with said blanks lol.

Aphra has gotten better with WoTF since theres 2 new droids that she seriously abuses (hailfire and 000), but shes one of those characters that you must design the deck in a specific way to be any good. I'm determined to make a deck with her thats mean, but im missing cards to truely do it lol. And because of the way her ability works she will only get better the more droids pop up.
