Lets create fun joke upgrades

By Ravenhull, in X-Wing

Jar Jar Binks. 0 pts May be attached to any ship regardless of upgrade slots. Jar Jar must be used in every game because George Lucas says so.

During setup flip a coin. The loser must attach this card to one of its ships. If any other ship in either squad would be dealt a damage card that meets or exceeds its hull value discard it instead. If any ship in either squad would flee the battlefield return it to play within range 1 of the point it fled parallel to the edge facing away. If you would be destroyed roll an attack die, on any result other than a blank discard all your damage cards.

So, basically pretty quickly everyone on both sides will prefer it if Jar Jar just dies but his stupid luck will probably keep him alive and annoying far too long.

Mynocks

Modification, -2 points

At the start of each planning phase choose 1:

  • Lose 1 shield
  • gain an ion token
  • Increase the difficulty of all maneuvers by 1 until the round
  • treat all non-focus actions as red until the end of the round
  • Flip a facedown damage card face up

Now I want a bomb that drops a Mynock field

Stormtrooper 1023

Crew, Imperial Only

At the start of the Engagement phase, choose one enemy ship at range 0 - 2. That ship must discard one Calculate token if able.

"Look sir-- Droids!"

Anti-Jank Device,

Modification (5 points, unique)

Immediately after initiative and before set up switch one of you opponents upgrade cards for another upgrade of the same category of equal or greater value.

Stowaway Wampa (crew, -3pts) - at the start of each activation phase, roll an attack dice. The ship this is equipped to takes any hit or critical damage rolled.

Princess Leia Organa in a Golden Bikini
Rebel Only

All friendly ships cannot be stressed

_______________________________________________________________

General Leia in a Golden Bikini
Resistance only

ALL friendly and enemy ships receive 5 stress tokens.
Stress tokens cannot be removed or used for abilities.

Old Han might be into that.

This could be a system upgrade, or a pilot. I don't know what ship it would fly, though!

  • Experimental Autopilot; Initiative 0

During planning, do not set a dial to this ship.
Instead, when you activate, roll one attack die.
On a <Blank> result, perform a straight manoeuvre.
On a <hit> result, perform a bank manoeuvre.
On a <focus> result, perform a turn manoeuvre.
On a <crit> result, perform either: a 180 manoeuvre, a stop manoeuvre, or a reverse manoeuvre; OR if your ship has none of these, any red
manoeuvre (and if it has none of these either, your opponent chooses a manoeuvre).

You may choose the speed and bearing (left/right) of any manoeuvre you execute.

If as a system upgrade, remove the Initiative 0 and add: After performing an action, you may perform any other action on your action bar, treating it as red.

Bigger fish

Force power

During the system phase, you may spend 1 [force] token to place a "Bigger fish" marker anywhere at range 0-2

This really, really needs to be limited. Otherwise, I sense Jerjerod with two Wampas on a Decimator for 36 points is going to be solid. Plus, 20 point trandoshan slavers with them would just be insanity until they kill themselves. But Continuing the negative point theme:

Incompetent Officer (Imperial Only, -1 point, Crew)
Your ship gains 1 additional crew slot. | After you perform an action, assign one stress token to your ship. You cannot equip more incompetent officers to this ship than your shield value.

Competent Officer (Imperial Only, 2 Points, Crew)
After you execute a green manoeuvre, you may remove up to 2 stress tokens from your ship to assign that many focus tokens to your ship.

Darth Vader (Imperial Only, 3 points, Crew)
When attacking, you may discard one Incompetent Officer to change all results to [crit] results. When you reveal a manoeuvre dial, you may discard one Incompetent Officer to ignore the effects of overlapping obstacles until the end of the round.

Admiral Thrawn (Imperial Only, 5 points, Crew)
After a friendly ship suffers damage from an attack or overlapping an obstacle, you may discard one Incompetent Officer upgrade from that ship and replace another Incompetent Officer upgrade on that ship with a Competent Officer upgrade card.

Vader kills the weak to make himself stronger, Thrawn kills the unlearning to promote understanding in others. The question is, are 16 point Lambda shuttles better than a Phantom that can guarantee 5 crit results on two attacks?

That’s like a free win if you say something that the store doesn’t have! What? This game store doesn’t have any Johnny Walker? Guess you’ll have to go out...

You don’t want to disappoint Lord Vader do you?

Meta Distortion Device (Modification, 8pts)

Once all forces have been placed, but before the first activation, you may discard "Meta Distortion Device" to replace your forces with one of the top 5 most popular net lists & apply the "Condition" condition to an enemy ship of your choice.

"Condition" (Condition)

Any condition that is placed on one of your ships also targets the ship with the "Condition" condition.

Twi Lek Dancer (Crew 2pts - 2 sided)

While Twi Lek Dancer "Perform" side is showing, ignore all crew & pilot ability text.

Your Ship cannot be stressed while "Perform" side is facing up.

At the beginning of any round where the "Perform" side is facing up, flip it over to the "Negotiate" side.

Spend one focus or calculate token to flip Twi Lek Dancer to "Perform" side.

If Twi Lek Dancer "Negotiate" side is visible at the end of your turn, reduce Initiative by 2 the next round.

Ewok Gambit - Crew Card - Rebel Only

Enemy ships may make an extra attack upon your ship but must assign themselves two stress after the initial attack.

Mind Trick- Elite- you can only equip this card if you have at least 1 force token.

During the combat phase instead of preforming a attack you may roll one attack die on a hit or crit result force a enemy ship to join your squad for the rest of the game.

Let's make fun throwaway droid called "Genius" and have it drop bombs after you move so they always hit you! Pretty sure this will never go wrong!

"I have a bad feeling about this" - Title (Millennium Falcon)

The first time you get attacked this round, the attacker rolls 4 additional attack dice. If you survive this attack, increase your both your primary attack and agility values by 3 until the end of the round.

Inspired by this...

"Ewoks everywhere!" Condition

Rebel Only.

At the start of Deployment phase put this condition in the Imperial deployment side.

The Imperial player must discard all of his elite upgrades.

"It is quite safe from your pitiful little band. An entire legion of my best troops await them"

-Emperor Palpatine

"Apology Accepted"

-Modification (Imperial Only)

After any player accidentally bumps ships, after they apologize and place them back as close as possible, they must choose 1 of their ships to receive 1 damage.

"I've got a bad feeling about this"

-Modification (Rebel Only)

-You may discard this card to do one of the following:

1. Assign a damage card face down to your ship instead of face up, without looking at it.

2. Before an opponent rolls attack dice. If you do, he may not modify his dice.

3. Before rolling for asteroid damage, to take no damage.

-However, you may flip this card face up, depending on what you chose:

1. Look at the damage card. If it was a Direct Hit, you may flip this card faceup.

2. If the opponent rolls all hits and crits naturally anyways, you may flip this card faceup

3. Roll the die (as if you were rolling for asteroid damage). If it was a hit or crit, you may flip this card face up.

It's a joke card, as it would never fit on any card. Just a funny "If you were right about having a bad feeling, you can keep the card"

We’d have a guy who’s ship would be destroyed rather quickly. Seriously, we’ve considered not letting him move ships because he’s that careless. And it’s the right faction for him too.

Had to read this about 5 times but I got there. I like it! Tempted to make it :D

Not an ‘upgrade’, but the product many are expecting FFG to release:

Sabine Flies Everything

A pilot pack with every ship in the game with Sabine. For example:

Sabine’s VT-49

“Immediately before you reveal your maneuver, you may perform a free boost or barrel roll action.“

Don’t worry, Sabine’s Raider does not get a boost. Just a barrel roll.

——————————

Said as a Sabine fan who would love to see her (and Hera) in an A-Wing, but acknowledges that she might be over represented. ;)

Besides, it let me make the jokes about applying her ability.

Rebel bias: rebel only. 6 pts.

You can equip this card only against imperial squadron.

At the start of the combat phase, you can discard this card to skip this combat phase

Sorry I I'm not ready for v2 wording

Shouldn't Rebel Bias be Empire only?

Jar Jar- When attacking change all blank results to hits. After a crit result is rolled add a evade result then cancel all crit results

Rose (crew) - Resistance

If your ship is in range 0 of a friendly ship, that ship may execute a (red 0 stop) insted of the move selected on its dial.
