New adventure for beginners needed.

By bsmith23, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

My MO for conventions is to use the Beginner game characters. I then poll the group on what flavor game they are interested in from the 4 choices.

I've done all the published scenarios multiple times and am writing new stuff. I've finished EotE and AoR, and I'm looking for ideas for the Force and Destiny and the Force Awakens characters. Any help is appreciated.

Imperial times:

  • A group of students is shocked by the grisly murder of their professor. His lab has been destroyed and someone has sliced into the records to delete all evidence of his research. But one (or more) of the PCs were working on the same project! ... in this case, the prof uncovered a force artifact. A rogue force user (or even an inquisitor) killed him and is destroying the evidence.
  • A starship crash lands on a remote jungle or forest planet, populated only with an Imperial base and its support buildings. But the wildlife seems oddly responsive to the PCs ... almost as if there's something different about them. Can they martial this small army into a way to make it to a spacecraft and off the planet? ... the wildlife on the planet is particularly attuned to the force. Maybe there's Jedi/Sith/Jensaarai/Massassi ruins. Maybe there's a kyber crystal cave. Mixes very well with AoR (the base shot down a rebel corvette the PCs were on)
  • It's the new Imperial census time! All citizens are to report to their local census station for registration and some light medical testing. When the PCs arrive and their medical tests are underway, the doctors stare at each other and mutter something about Code 42 before giving them colorful armbands "containing their medical information". They are escorted into a small holding area for further testing. After that happens, they are led down a hallway with a long window overlooking a courtyard. In the courtyard, stormtroopers are tossing bodies in an incinerator. Each body has a colored armband. Mixes OK with EotE, as the PCs will need quick thinking to get out of this one.

Clone Wars:

  • Padawans have been warned not to go near those ruins. Everyone knows that's just silly superstition and rules, and the ruins are great for playing around in. But after their buddy Jhaxo starts acting funny and insisting on being called "Kredarva the Indomitable, Scourge of the Delphics" can they 1) find a way to help Jhaxo 2) prevent any incidental Scourging of the locals 3) keep their masters from finding out and 4) complete their assigned chores?
  • They call it Forlorn Hope. The school for troublesome, disappointing and/or insubordinate trainees. While the rest of their class have been promoted to Padawan, this collection of misfits have been given one last chance before being drummed out of the Jedi Order. But on the night of the Shrieking Wind that blows through town, the Masters are incapacitated - babbling visions while rolling around; others fall catatonic - it will fall to this motley bunch to defend the school from the chittering creatures outside. Have they been driven into a rage by the wind, or is something more sinister at work?

Also, if you want something that's more lore connected:

A starship designer named Rugess Nome, with a majority stake in Sienar Technologies, has perished in a mining accident.

Meanwhile, the fantastically wealth Hego Damask, chairman of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, has gathered forth various people of interest he has been watching and assisting over the years:

  • Pontus, a troubleshooter for Xucphra Corporation, with Consular career
  • Ryk'ta'mokh, the victory-at-any-cost Republic commander, with Guardian career
  • Sheev, a minor noble from Naboo, with Mystic career
  • Denn, a ranger from a hostile jungle planet, with Seeker career
  • Silessa, ruthless undercover twi'lek agent of the Hutt Cartel, with Sentinel career
  • Ixitl, the mysterious Warrior

The group are given a set of tasks and told that Damask will be watching and judging their abilities - and that one will be selected to be Damask's successor. Along the way they find a Jedi Knight named Dooku (and his padawan Qui-Gon) are undoing their careful work. Damask insists the group figure out a way to complete the tasks without drawing too much attention from the Jedi.

I suspect that that's only if you want to run a Dark Side game! :)

(Darth Plagueis and an up-and-coming Darth Sidious? It'll be a last-man-standing elimination trial!)

Your Jedi-ish PC's have been hired on by a somewhat eccentric professor who is doing some off the books research on Taris, looking for the fabled Jedi Tower. The correct bribes were paid, and the paperwork professionally dummied up so everything looks above board. The PC's could even hunt up some genuine Jedi artifacts, as well. But then an Imperial shuttle lands practically on top of the site, and stormtroopers rush out to secure the area. The PC's are initially overlooked in the chaos of the landing, while the other workers at the site are arrested. Can they make the 3 day journey to the nearest starport to swipe a ship and escape? Did they find an actual Jedi artifact...a holocron, maybe? And who is the tall guy in the dark armor with the lightsaber on his hip, in charge of the stormtroopers...and why does the professor seem to know him?
