YT-2000 new canon appearance

By jmswood, in X-Wing

The ship appears with a Rebel fleet at the Battle of Batonn in Thrawn #6.

Is it being flown by Ace?

No idea. It's an easter egg, not a feature in the story.

Ah yes, the ship that kills everyone on board as soon as you put any stress on the frame.

pic?

Technically, Rebels had a slightly different appearance for the ship as well, in the episode Iron Squadron

You're thinking of the YT-2400. This is the YT-2000

So was it a YT-2000 or a YT-2400 in the comic? Anyone have a pic?

Ah.. my mystake.

You may go about your business (waves hand)

Holy crap! Yep, YT-2000 is canon, but so is the Dynamic Class Freighter.

I was just figuring out that's what that boxy front freighter was.

And people want to complain about Clone Wars-era ships being used later on. How about an Old Republic era ship being used by the Rebellion?

Who said it was Old Republic anymore? :P

To be fair, without any of these being named by their titles or classes, we can't actually call them canon as such. That could be something that looks a lot like a Dynamic -class but is actually a newer type of ship.

Good point!

Also what look a lot like Daedalus class ships from stargate on the right side in that first link.

Initially, I thought it was a backwards Jumpmaster until I suddenly remembered that I had seen it before.

The Rebels must be really desperate to be bringing in millennia-old technology !

The dynamic-class freighter has actually been canon for a while now, it appeared in a Star Wars Rebels comic book (of the variety sold in drugstores and marketed towards small children)

super cool that the YT-2000 is also canon now!

Interesting to see the classic design of the heavy dreadnought too.

As opposed to the current canon Imperial Support Vessel.
