The 2.0 rule book.

Do you get a range bonus for using a cannon or turret weapon. I read where an upgrade with the missile icon does not get a range bonus...but I also noticed it does not say Primary weapon gets the range bonus. Maybe I missed it. Do not have the time to read through all of the rules word for word right now.

Would be great if you could roll one more dice for cannons or turrets if the defender was at range 1, especially if you have to use the bullseye arc.

While they may not have made it clear, secondary weapons without the missile symbol are affected by range.

They stated in range bonuses that primary or special attacks apply range bonuses unless they have the missile icon.

Turrets/cannons are affected, unless they happen to have that icon for some reason. I'd be a little less miffed about the HLC nerf if it had that icon, since it CANT get the R1 bonus anyway.

Anyone notice this from the quickstart guide?

Clear Rebel bias. The Empire's cards are upside down.

actually i think this is a flop on their end.

Im not seeing anything about boost/rolls being considered a Maneuver, and the "Fleeing the Area" rule on pg 11 only says "after executing a maneuver"

So as it stands you can be completely off the board if you got there via boost/roll LOL nice one ffg...

page 6, executing a maneuver - When a ship executes a maneuver, the player uses a template to change the ship’s position. This could be interpreted as boost, barrel roll, decloak and tractor all being maneuvers...

on another note, I thought failed actions were lost but I can't find where it says if I try to barrel roll onto a rock I loose my action.

Who knows when the next FAQ will be released :)

can dice be re rolled more than once? I can't find where it says you can't do that.

Huh....yeah i only see Reroll mentioned period in the Lock section and it doesnt specify. Weird.

Also that "executing a maneuver" is an extension of the dial rules. It refers to specifically using the pegs to place the template. While this applies for boosts, it would not apply for rolls and somehow i doubt they'd say a boost is a maneuver but a roll isnt.

Maybe there will be a third book - Rules Reference that clarifies these things.

also I cant find where you change the orientation of the one straight for the large ship barrel roll.

No maybe about it.

The Rules Reference is specifically referred to in this rulebook in the section about ship base sizes.

There's a bit that specifically mentions this book is only for the core set contents and only refers to small base ships or 'default' rules.

Any rules regarding special rules for different base sizes will either come in the Rules Reference, an insert in large base expansions or both.

Except for cloak, where a difference is made for the bases

And has been pointed out in this thread at least 4 times.

I didn't see the "medium base" barrel roll rules.

Judge?

they will work the same as large base. So said Alex in the one of the covenant videos.

See the section on p12 about base sizes.

This only covers small bases, the rest is in the Rules Reference.

They should have made the rules like the points costs, just have the rulebook only have pictures like an Ikea instruction booklet and have all the rules on the app so they can change it on a whim.

Ahem...

From the rulebook

Quote

Once players understand how to play, and desire to build squads, they should consult the online Rules Reference to answer any further questions.

It was actually triple-nerfed: as written, it has no effect against weapons like the Ion Cannon and Tractor Beam. The damage is already capped at one, and the rest of the hits are dealt as tokens instead of damage.

Tractor Beam has gone from useless against the Ghost to being AMAZING against the Ghost. You're going to have to be very careful if you try hugging the edges of the board, as your opponent will be looking to shove you right off the map.

Sunny Bounder told me to tell all of you that she's coming to take the Ghost DOWN with her tractor beam! The little Scyk that could CHUGGA CHUGGA!

Well this should at least give us a new flavor of the-sky-is-falling.

It is all lies, FFG is greedy and they just want to take our money and these new rules and tokens are the proof ... also the earth is flat and the government faked the moon landings.
