General Mohc and the Dark Troopers

By Lemmiwinks86, in Star Wars: Legion

First of all I must say that I love all the Dark Forces saga, those games gave me countless hours of fun.
As they are not official canon I was wondering if there is a chance to get General Mohc and the Dark Troopers foe Legion as I think they coud fit well as Commander and Special Forces for example and could be fun. Also Kyle Katarn as a Rebel Operative would be awesome (and maybe Jan too?)

What do you think? I must forget about this possibility or is it feasible?

I'd say next to impossible. Katarn maybe in the very distant future. Dark Troopers no way.

Well the dark troopers design WAS used as inspiration for the Imperial Sentry Droids in Star Wars Rebels... there’s an off chance we get those in the future.

Also in canon, i believe, are the Purgetroopers, which bear resemblance to the dark trooper.

I have Dark Trooper Phase I, II, and III minis from WotC, which I plan to re-base, re-paint, and proxy in as something else. It strikes me that the Phase III might fit well as a proxy Boba Fett. As for Mohc, I’m thinking of finding an old GW Lord Castellan Creed miniature (Google Image search it—he’s beefy enough, I think!) and converting it suitably. He could be run as Veers in the mean-time, or somebody more thematically similar if the option arises. I’ve also got two of the old Kyle Katarn figures, and am very much looking forward to using one of them in games—probably as Luke, for now. The Dark Forces series, including the wonderful illustrated novellas by William C. Dietz (I recently revisited them by reading them aloud to my wife, which proved great fun for us both), has long been one of my favourite EU stories, so these characters are near and dear to my heart!

That's a weird opinion.

1) They exist in a number of video games that have been made since Disney picked up the license and changed canon.

2)Fantasy Flight has, in other games, used things from the old expanded universe that were no longer a part of Disney canon.

Given these facts and what an excellent fit they'd make for the game, why do you think there's no way?

Which ones if I may ask?

General Rom Mohc in a phase 3 armor would be a pretty sweet range beat stick leader.

Since Disney almost certainly controls the Dark Trooper IP, and FFG's fondness for the old EU, I see no reason we won't get them eventually. We might have to wait a long time, but we'll probably get them eventually.

According to wookieepedia it’s the mobile games (uprising and commander I think).

It’s a shame they’re mobile... a lot of interesting stuff has been “canonized” by those games. I tried uprising and commander for a little bit but couldn’t get into them... they did a bit of worldbuilding that I thought would’ve been neat if it hadn’t been tied to microtransaction-driven mobile games.

Katarn is less likely than some unit at the very least like the Dark Troopers, as much as I hate to admit it. As mentioned previously, the canon mobile games have included units that are very similar to the designs of some of the Dark Trooper phases, but I would think Disney would prefer FFG to focus solely on current canon character, as a form of cross promotion. While it can be argued that there seems to be fairly slim pickings for units, characters are something Star Wars canon is hardly lacking.

Uprising actually had a fantastic story, for a mobile game, and good villians - governer Adelhard. I would love to see him show up again.

Yeah, it’s really a shame Uprising was cancelled. It and Rebels: Recon Missions were the only halfway decent (original, not counting ports like KotOR) Star Wars mobile games, and now they’re both gone. Adelhard would make a great miniature!
