An eagle-eyed member of my crew came across a big lot being sold on eBay from St. Paul, MN, and noticed a few of the promo cards weren't yet in circulation but definitely looked "right." You can see the quarterly logo on the Home One and Dual Turbolaser Turrets, although they're different quarters, which is odd.
Skilled First Officer promo cards? Yes, please.
SFO doesn't have the 18 on it like the other stuff....

it's kind of stupid to make alt art version's of unique cards in the first place. SFO and DTT would be nice. those are cards I'd like more of. and the list of those goes on. Flight controllers, intel officer, spinal, a bunch more probably.

Interesting that the DTTs there are labelled as a different quarter than the ones in the article. I wonder if they were originally planned for the Q2 kit.
Also clears up the mystery of why the SFO card doesn't have the 18/quarter mark.
