Brute Force (Wookie Warriors mission): Door Questions

By DarthNebbish, in Imperial Assault Campaign

There's one door (closed) in this mission and it doesn't have any special rules until the end of round 1:

If the door is open, the Imperial player may close it. If he does, it becomes locked. A hero can interact with it (wrench) to open it.

A few questions:

1. Does this mean that if the door hasn't yet been opened, it cannot be locked?

2. Can the Imperial player lock it again after it has been opened?

The FAQ says:

Mission Rules (this is a general heading, not specific for this mission)
Q: What does it mean when a door becomes “unlocked?” Does it open?
A: No. When a locked door is unlocked by a mission effect, the door remains closed but can be opened with an interact, following normal rules for opening doors.

3. This mission says that a hero can interact with the locked door to open it. Does this mean that we should ignore the two-interaction process of unlocking then opening and go straight to opening?

Thanks.

1. If the door is not open, the imperial player may not close it, thus it is unlocked.

3. A locked door can only be opened as defined by a mission rule. A mission rule is given (a tech test) to open the locked door.

I.e. if the door was closed by the imperial player, it now requires an attribute test associated with an interact instead of just an interact.

The mission rule would say "unlocks" if it required two interacts to first unlock, then open.

That's how I read it as well, but it seems odd that only after a door is opened can the Imperial player lock it.

Thanks.

Yes, I don't see why not.

Since the trigger for the rule is "at the end of round 1" my initial thought was that it was only applicable at that moment rather than an ability the Imperial player could use sometime later. It would also be a bit weird for the Rebels to have the foreknowledge that once they open the door, it would immediately be locked again.

The closing of the door part of the persistent mission rule (◆) is obviously intended to be an instantaneous rule (►) because there is no other timing. It doesn't make sense to be able to keep closing the door each time it is opened again.
