Just to clarify, I just meant I don’t think there will be any NEW lcg’s. The ones going will be around for a few years yet at least. I love the LoTR one, and Arkham is a great game as well
Will FFG debut a new LCG at Gen Con 2018?
If FFG scraps the LCG concept I would be really surprised given how successful their games have been at least from appearances. The CCG concept is the one struggling, I mean Destiny is barely 2 years old and it's already dropping off the radar and I don't expect Keyforge to be successful at all, that concept is just outright broken. Random, unique decks with no customization? So I buy a deck and hope its not a **** one with the play style I like and if it is not, I go out and buy a new one and do what throw the one I don't like away? I can't even begin to describe to you how fast they can F off with that garbage. I predict that game will fail super hard and will end up being one of the shortest lived card games in FFG's library.

You can trade decks.
People are loving it.
IT isn't for you, and that is fine. But you aren't everyone. It targets a whole new audience that don't care about deckbuilding. They just want to open a deck and play some cards against each other.

I wasn't speaking for everyone, I was very clearly speaking for myself, you on the other hand have pulled out the all mighty and always mysterious magical "people" that support your opinion.
The sealed deck concept is not a new concept, in fact, it is one of Garfield's greatest career failures that he has tried again and again to turn into a "thing". He has been shopping it around to publishers for the better part of two decades and he has been rejected by everyone until now because no one thought the concept could work. I will give it to FFG for being bold, but the reason no one else would touch is because it's very clearly a model that lives and dies as a competitive tournament game and everyone in the industry knows that tournaments are for marketing purposes only, you don't make money on tournament players, the real money is in getting acceptance by the vast majority of players who do not compete. Tournaments are just there to get people excited about playing the game.
Also and I can't stress this enough, FFG is going to get sued by Richard Garfield. It's not a question of if, it's just a question of when. The moment they do something he doesn't like with the game, he will drag FFG through every courtroom he can think of, the man has never done business with anyone who didn't end up getting sued by him.
Edited by BigKahunaYou were speaking for others. You said the game isn't going to take off and will fail. You are projecting your own concerns, And there is a very active fanbase who want to play.
Source on Garfiled suing everyone? I don't remember him suing magic and most people who have worked with him speak highly.

No offense but you represent everything that is wrong with internet/forum conversations. You don't read people's posts yet reply to them with a bunch of assumption about what they wrote then continue to do the exact thing you just accused them of doing.
I did not speak for anyone else but myself, I said "I" think and "I" predict. I am not projecting my concerns, I'm not assuming anyone else thinks what I do nor did I at any point suggest that anyone was agreeing with me.
You however have done only that, I still don't have no Idea what your opinion is, I only know what "your people" people think.

I didn't assume anything. You said the game would fail because people wouldn't like it. Meanwhile I am talking about the active Facebook, Discord, Reddit, And local communities that already exist.
You also never sourced your allegation that Richard Garfield sues everyone he does business with.
Instead you started making a personal attack and calling me "everything wrong with the internet". I did read your posts and have replied to specific things in them.
Regardless of different opinions, there's a fact: FFG is exploring different territories, first by returning to the collectible model, and then opening to the unique games genre. Now, a company doesn't have unlimited production capabilities, so, unless they have beefed up their factories in China and the amount of people working for them, there's just this many product lines they can develop. We've all witnessed how the advent of Star Wars made less important other lines, and we've all witnessed how from having 6 LCGs in their roster, now they have 2 fully active (L5R and AH), 1 that's been expanded veeeery slowly and moved to digital (LotR), and 1 that should be very active but had a ton of articles entering the Holidays sale (AGoT 2nd) which isn't a good sign.
So, the state of LCGs doesn't seem as healthy as it was let's say 5 years ago
I would say they hit peak around 2015 when they had Conquest and AGOT 2nd just starting with Arkham on the horizon.

I think it was constant number. Conquest replaced Invasion, AGoT 2.0 replaced 1.0 and AH replaced CoC LCG.
