At first glance they seem ok ... however do they translate over to linked actions and ship abilities?
If you take engine upgrades (or is it Afterburner now?) on your A-Wing, does it turn the red boost in the text white?
Or an expert handled TIE Bomber, when preforming it’s linked action, is the barrel roll considered white?
(Sorry I don’t know the 2.0 cards very well yet.)

No. These upgrades add a white boost/barrel roll action to ships that have a red version of the action. They do not affect linked actions (In fact, linked actions most likely do not satisfy the equip requirements), nor do they affect actions given to you by specific effects, such as the A-wing or Tie Interceptor's ship abilities, or Moff Jerjerod's squad-wide boost.
As Squark said, these upgrades add a white action to your bar, they do not modify the red action in any way.
