Best place for terrain?

By Father Of Fred, in Star Wars: Legion

Hi guys,

I was just wondering where the best place is to buy terrain and structures?

I'm building a battlefield for my son and I, and really want to make it look awesome.

thank you in advance

I would try to build your own. It costs a fraction of the price and looks great. Pink foam is very cheap and workable. Dollar stores also have plenty of craft materials

Building your own stuff is very rewarding, I've done it and love it. Butif youdon't mind spending a few bucks you can buy some really nice stuff.

If you want to buy Star Wars buildings, Battlefield in a Box has pre-painted Tatooine ones for cheap. $25 for a box of two different ones I believe! Then they sell other bigger singleton Tatooine buildings that cost more.

Geo Hex is awesome too. It's a modular system of interlocking hexes to make really cool topography, you may or may not want that since you say you are "building a battlefield, you're probably making your own hills and such and just want really spiffy buildings.

I will try for the odd one or two, but for the more complex building I'd rather just pay.

Thanks man, I'll check those out.

Also unpainted but good is this historical desert building by Renedra. You need the house and the accessory frame to get that Mos Eisley domed look.

Geo Hex does everything via ebay stores now. The store isn't always terribly fully stocked but virtually all their old product lines can be had via special order in a short time. https://www.ebay.com/str/geohexterrainsystems

Oh, wow. I didn't realize GeoHex was still a thing.

You know the very curvy, screw-top tubs that lemonade, iced tea, etc. powdered drink mix comes in? Those are ready sculpted Tatooine buildings. Take a used one and glue the lid on. Gently rough it up with sandpaper so it grabs paint better. Spray with cheap black or very dark brown ($5) and wait 24 hours. Cut out an arched door shape from 2" masking tape and apply to the place a door would go. Put round yard sale price tag stickers, or adhesive notebook rings, anywhere you want windows. Spray with that rock-texture spray paint ($10) in a sandy color. Repeat with more drink mix tubs until you kill the expensive can of rock spray paint. If you won't want the skyline to be level, put some on varying thickness square plywood bases, and glue weird space lookin' stuff to the roofs of some.

Colored and pre-cut. The kits are very cool, and the range is modelled with Legion units.

I use them for Test of Honor: clean and easy to build.
