Overlapping while moving

" If the unit would overlap no more than a single tray of an allied unit during a move and does not overlap any part of that allied unit at the end of the move, that allied unit is not treated as an obstacle and does not cause a collision. To complete this movement, the unit may need to be picked up and moved over the allied unit."

Is this read as you could pass over multiple allied units as long as it is not more than one tray of each of those allied units?

Yep!

Makes having single units out front of a big one not too terrible, you can move through them. That's why I like using single tray Rune Golems as blockers / interceptors.

Nice, I wasn'sure as I have never considered it in game. Nationals video looked like it happened and had golem leap from the seam of two units and was thinking just that for golem xbow blocker.

I believe the reverse has issues -- the 1 rune golem could overlap two trays moving through another wider unit?

So a 2x2 of Cav (for example) could move through a single Golem, but that Golem could not pass through multiple trays of the 2x2? Assuming enough red runes were showing to get to the other side.

Correct.

Also please note that in order to successfully move through a friendly unit, you must move a number of units equal to the number of trays you want to move through plus two. This is true even if you start your move touching the tray, because of the pegs.

Related question: say I have my 2x2 of Oathsworn and attempt to move through my Golem friend by dialling in a 4 march with a 2 march modifier. During the 4 march, I land on the Golem, but the modifier allows the cavalry to get through. Is this a legal move? Or does it fail since the Oathsworn technically can't complete the action on the left dial?

I would rule it as a failure. You are executing 2 separate marches and each one would have to clear allies completely.

It would fail as it is two separate actions. Need to complete the 4 speed march complete and then the 2 march.
