I'm getting one of each Conversion kit. I play all factions. Still, even though I'm looking forward to the new Defenders for Imperials and Boba for Scum, I am a bit more of a Rebel player so that faction is the one I'm most looking forward to.

Sidenote: From the unboxing videos I've seen, there seems to be no Evade nor Shield tokens in the Conversion kits... has this been confirmed? (Sorry it this is discussed elsewhere, I couldn't find it).

It's confirmed. Basically nothing outside of ship cardboard and cards.

I guess the core set is supposed to come with enough to cover a whole squad. kinda weird. I wonder if none of the new ships will come with shields. I'd be ok with not drowning in them this time around.

I'm pretty sure the X-Wing expansion pack from a while back had shields. I think the conversion kit, they wanted to focus on the most important bits to make it work for 2nd edition.

Wish ties had something more interesting.

My understanding is they used the TIEs as the baseline for what to buff and what to nerf, and will continue to do so moving forward. I kinda like that, but it also means the TIE is more unlikely to emerge from average for the foreseeable future.

They did get good new pilots. But what I mean is I don't find them enticing or interesting to fly. Their dial is completely the same (very classical and limited), and they still have 3 hp and die if you look at them funny. (or your green dice misbehave). None of that sounds fun to fly for me more than once.

I'll grant that I'm not a 7 howl player, who might get more mileage, but I never felt swarms were very amazing. (Though being able to fly formation is cool)

Yeah, the X-Wing Expansion had everything necessary except focus tokens, oddly enough

Also Happy Friday, @Cubanboy :)

I think the TIE LN does what it is supposed to do. If I ramped up then EVERYTHING else would too. Better to leave the LNas the bedrock and build off it.

Just a couple of sloops, that's all I wanted for the LN ?

How long have you been playing? Swarms haven't been viable ever since the death of 2-die attacks. There's just nothing you can do with them because 2 evades is just too easy to get. What I've heard though is that this hasn't been the case forever. TIE/ln swarm was THE first meta list, and variations of it were viable until a year or two ago when the crack swarm succumbed to infinite regen (harpoons and wookiees have since nailed the coffin shut).

With lower defensive mods and stacking, plus the nerfs to reinforce and evade, every 2-die attack is much more likely to bite, and the TIE/ln is no exception. In addition, your agility value is actually going to have a great deal of meaning, because even with a tall stack of evade tokens, you can't dodge anything with a zero agility ship, because you don't have any dice. Combine those with Iden, the buff to Howlrunner, Sloane, and the other cool new tricks, and I am very excited to see what these things can really do.

Edit: I have always thought it odd that the TIE/fo got green turns. Like seriously, why? It isn't an interceptor of any kind. Aren't the sloops, shield, and tech slot enough to distinguish them? Hoping they lose them in 2e

I've been here since about wave 3 and played some swarms. Swarms haven't been great for a long time, probably since around wave7 or 8.

Yes, I get that. It's just weird to me since they include all the other tokens, and focus even, but no evades nor shields. The tokens are different (shapes and design) in 2.0 after all. There will be some included in each single expansion packs I'm assuming. Still, they did mention that the conversion kits include everything from the re-released expansions... except evades and shields apparently.

I personally don't mind, as I will be getting one of each 2.0 single expansion as well (so I should end up with more than enough tokens eventually). It just seems like an oversight to me. Adding another cardboard sheet with 5 evades and 10-15 shields is easy enough.

I really want to play everything. Time will get in the way thoughts I'll likely play rebels for a few months and see how it it goes.

Support the troops! I'm with the Imperials.

It doesn't matter if you voted for Palpatine or not, but support the troops!
