Questions reguarding materials

By Chyrson, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

With the new mystic book and heartwood I'm wondering if any other books refer to any particular martierials I know Cortosis is another special material but are there others mentioned in any books that people know of? Also is there any good pictures of Cortosis armor or gear trying to get a feel for it's astetic

Not really with regards to materials.

As far as Cortosis goes, once it's been worked into an item, it's no different appearance-wise than any other item of a similar design that lacks cortosis.

Donovan nailed it. Also remember that the Cortosis Weave attachment doesn't just cover the Cortosis material itself, but also several other lightsaber resistant materials, such as Phrykk and Beskar (Mandalorian Iron).

As a weird technicality, Cortosis being an Attachment, can easily be removed from one item and applied to another item of the same class (e.g., armor) just as Superior can be. This may fail the common sense test in many ways, but that's not unusual with this game.

I think removing attachments and being able to reuse is a GM call?

Not by RAW, but depending upon the attachment, that would make sense. Really, trying to remove a Superior Hilt Personalization, or Superior Armor Customization from said weapon or armor, doesn't make much sense, since narratively, they represent how the weapon or armor is constructed, and what materials it is made from. The same with Cortosis/Beskar. Most attachments, however, are definitely designed to be removable. A lightsaber crystal is easy to swap out with another one. A targeting scope for a blaster, easily removable, etc.
