I would prefer FFG steer away from the old storyline.

Having said that here are some character I would like to see how/if they are being reimagined:

-Mirumoto Sukune: Largely I think Mirumoto Masashige is taking his place so no great expectation to see him.

-Kakita Ichiro, Seppun Toshiken and their relation with Toshimoko.

-Shinjo Hanari.

-Kitsune Gohei and Kitsune Ryosei

-Yogo Junzo.

-Iuchi Karasu.

-Kitsu Motso.

-Ikoma Tsanuri.
