This, just this. If you’re that serious about tournaments you shouldn’t play single faction.

I thought 2.0 was supposed to mean a more balanced game and therefore more balanced factions? Why are we bothering with this reboot if one faction is going to be demonstrably weaker to the point that playing that faction becomes competitively crippling? Is what you all are imagining 2nd edition is going to be like?

I haven’t even played competitively much but I can see the value in playing all the factions you can so you know how your opponent works and strats they’ll use. Just sayin.

The app in 2.0 gives the designers the means to react quicker to the balance issues after they see them. There's nothing in there to prevent the issues from occurring.

In 1.0 FFG failed to consistently balance releases so that all factions were equally good. For most of the game's 3 faction life it was 2 factions at the top and one trailing behind, by a more or less significant margin. IMO it's unrealistic to expect that with 5 factions, possibly 7 later, stuff will be different.

Don't forget they said they will be more Card Pack in the future so...

I think it's unrealistic to expect all factions to be balanced all the time, or even any of the time. They're going to move up and down the power level over time, and I think faction-locking yourself as a player will likely lead to some long and frustrating periods while your faction isn't the one getting the love.
