Can you deploy a ship you set aside because of Raddus and/or Profundity at the beginning of the first round? I did this the other day with a fleet ambush objective, so we started trading shots during round one. It seemed wrong somehow...

yes you can

Note that even without Raddus, playing Feelt Ambush you will find yourselves trading shots during the first round anyway.

Hmm. Then could you potentially deploy 3 ships then on turn 1? Hyperspace Assault followed by a Raddus dropping the MC75 then Profundity for the third ship? Provided Raddus is in a ship that is deployed regularly.

Yes, no reason you couldn't do all three of those things at the top of round two.
