7 activation Raddus

By The Jabbawookie, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Pretty simple concept: first last something, jump in the 75 with a QBT double arc, Hondo a squadron token for BTs, unload. Opening Salvo holds appeal, but MW has comparable benefit with higher reward. Salvage Run I'm not 100% sure of. It's tempting to go for an eighth (seventh starting) activation by dropping the CR90 to a B and adding another transport, but that means a potentially smaller/riskier contribution and a lower bid. Worth it?

I....I rather like it!

I might consider replacing the QBT's. Odds are you're going to end up speeding up to get that ship where it needs to be to do BT's and hit it's hardest. Maybe DTT's or H9's?

I always consider putting Raddus on a small ship to be risky but with the activation pad you have it is a smaller risk. Defiantly knew a guy that got tabled round two becuase of that again I don't see that risk here so looks interesting.

You still want OE and TFO

Make it a CR90B and Take off TRCs...

I like the squadron cover better than another Hammerhead. Just keep raddus back and going across the board. you can also out deploy most fleets and even sloane

I played this a bit:

CR90 Corvette B (39)

It was... okay.

Struggled a bit to pop beefy imperials (tooled ISDs, loaded out Interdictors) overall it was okay, but not really my cup of tea.

Scout Corvette... not worth it... wayyyyy more damage with the torpedo with ER and they are cheaper...

You only need both TFO and ordnance if you’re crit fishing at long range with sato, otherwise one or the other is fine. Also that squad cover is literally free points.

Not really. Scout corvettes with slaved turrets provide really strong long ranged firepower for cheap. Torpedoes have much better burst, but it’s only at close range, and it’s only once.

That torp corvette never uses the title to re-roll it's own dice - it's usually my first activation after it gets dropped out of profundity - it has the title to get exhausted in order to feed re-rolls to the scouts following up behind it.

Sure, torps burst harder - but I already have a torp popping out of profundity, and profundity itself. I like having some long range options - they act as a 'magnet' that people just can't help but fly straight into.

Yes, Scout Hammerheads with Slaved Turrets and TF: Antilles are really good long-range threats that even a Vader Cymoon will need some excellent rolling to one-shot. The maneuver options at speed 2 plus that glorious front arc allow you a lot of options to stay at long range. They make a great hammer to the Profundity-Torpedo HH anvil.

I am not sure how GR-75s without squadrons would benefit your fleet. Other than that I really like the list, a lot of ships to play around, I second the comments about at least having few squadrons, good insurance for potential bombers.

They're dirt-cheap, speed 3 drop-points that have a scatter token to make they exceptionally unlikely to get popped by a lucky red-die shot.

What JB said. Also, flak, deployments and activations. Now, is that worth no squads? I’d say yes in this case, because screens work best if you’re pushing them with something. And 26 points won’t even buy Tycho and Shara, I’d still need to downgrade to a CR90B.

I started with a VERY simmilar HH MSU + Raddus MC75 fleet when I was preparing for worlds.

After a lot of experimentation I left the whole MSU+Raddus archetype alone and went with Raddus +cr90+gr75+yt2400's because I could never get the MSU portion to function properly.
