1.0 Meta - How to beat 5 X-Wings?

when in doubt....fly strikers.

You can't. When you see such beauty on you surrender and join tje rebellion in his fight against the empire!!

On topic, You have to avoid the initial just at all cost. 15 red dice will melt one or your ships. If you can take 2 x wings down the list becomes easier to dodge.

That's a cracker of a list!

It’s pretty brutal for 5X. But with NymTen running around with proton bombs it’s a risky pick.

I'd be interested in seeing 4 Linked Battery/Thrust Corrector B-Wings against 5 X-Wings. I've played around a lot with dice calcs, and the math works out better for the B-Wings that you might expect. They can safely save their focus for offense, and it's really hard to kill one of these B-Wings (only a 24% chance or so to clean one out from five focused 3-dice attacks).

Have you heard of our lord and savior Director Krennic and his optimized prototypes? (hint highly mobile aces with passive mods and plentiful token stacks do well)

Already beaten him 3 times with 5 x wings.

I could see Miranda Dash taking 5 xwings. Dash can keep range 3 from just 2, maybe 3 xwings, while pumping HLC shots into them. If Dash just takes out two xwings, Miranda can take the win.

Triple auzitucks could also do well against single mod 3 dice ships.

As others have said, Dash. He was the bane of TIE Swarms so he should handle 5 X-wings without a huge amount of trouble.

Add in Miranda and you should be good.

Treat it as any other swarm really - take big obstacles, clutter with them central part of the map and try to break out their formation - then eliminate X-Wing one by one, games like this are won in deployment phase.

Quick question while we're on the subject....

I only have three X-Wing and can't really afford to buy another Saw's pack. Would three X-Wings with maybe a wookie be good?

Formation? People fly 5x in formation?

I tried a three cavern angels list with a PS8 Poe. I think the list needs something else to give more mods to the angels or can hit very hard.

I used FAA and Intimidation on two and flew them as blockers, and the third with Crack Shot and Chopper on the other to be Poe's (IA, BB-8, Adv. Optics) wingman. I won but don't have much hope for the list beyond fun to fly on casual game night.

3 with any Ace would be good. I would suggest trying the Zealots with FAA and Snap shot. Its pretty nice!
Or 3 rookies with FAA gives you enough points for a Simulator Bomblet Nym

From what I have seen yes. Some people fly in formation even though there is no benefit to doing so.

check out Asa's (from back to dials) crack dealer list. has two x-wings in it. but I think you would still need another saw pack unless it has two of the Cavern Angel zealots in it.

Can you post the list?

I don't know the full list off hand but I'm sure @acegard would help you out!

Add in snapshot stress ezra to annihilate reapers, and then lt blount or cracken with tracers to give your xwings a lock for a decent alpha.

I tried to make that work, but it means I run Rookie pilots (no crackshot) and no gunner on Ezra.

Too soon to say The Ghost of Fenn? Or 4 Wookiee filled with Wookies. Beat them at their own Rebellion.

Alternatively fly the glorious Empire and play my current favourite of Decimator with PTL, Isard, engine upgrades, Krennic and whatever optimized prototype ace wingman you want.

It looks like a really good list, and one I'd like to try. My only real concern is the fact that whichever B-wing gets targeted tends to end the turn buried under a mound of stress tokens, which is likely to prevent it staying in the fight effectively over the next few turns. Plus, with only 4 ships and very slow dials, you may come unstuck against stuff like Dash Rendar - if you're using linked battery for rerolls, you're stuck with primary weapons, which means distinctly less effective fire at range 3.

For ace B-wings - like Keyan Farlander or Ibitsam, especially with crew like Hera, Maul, and Ezra, stress is at worst an annoyance and sometimes a positive boon - making Thrust Corrector rather better on them, because you can use it at will.

Not base-to-base like they're pretending they're a howlrunner swarm, but you need to fly them in a moderately co-ordinated group to make sure everyone's arcs of fire end up covering the same bit of space at the same range at the same time. With Harpoons and Trajectory Simulator making the more aggressive rebel squads 'Splash Damage The Musical', that's enough to make the approach risky if there are rocks limiting your choices.

Rexxx, or Rex with 3 X's

Wedge Antilles with Adaptability, Renegade Refit, FAA, Servomotor S-Foils & Integrated Astromech - 28 points

Luke Skywalker with VI, Renegade Refit, FAA, Servomotor S-Foils & Integrated Astromech - 28 points

Wes Janson with VI, Renegade Refit, R3-A2, Servomotor S-Foils & Integrated Astromech - 30 points

Captain Rex - 14 points

Total - 98

All X-Wings at PS10 plus shenanigans from everybody's favorite clone trooper.

Edit: List is 98 points....didn't know that Renegade Refit gives you -1 points, minimum 0, on EPTs.

Well I don't believe a lot of people will effectively fly a miniswarm of 5 xwings. I'm going to store championship next Saturday and if people use 5 xwings that's great. Lololololo

People got used to 2 ship lists.

I never thought the day would come when this would be a topic. How do you beat a five X-Wing list in X-Wing.

It’s beautiful.
