Force Upgrade Ideas

By sirfrancisdubois, in Star Wars: Legion

Hey guys, I'm interested in the kinds of future force upgrades that you want to see in Legion. Here are a few ideas I had:

Force Drain

10pts

Dark Side only

Exhaustible

(free action) Choose an enemy trooper unit you are in base contact with. It suffers 1 wound while you gain one.

Force Speed

7pts

Exhaustible

(free action)Perform a speed-1 move.

Force Valor

7pts

Light Side only

Exhaustible

(free action) Gain an aim token.

I like that ideas, I'd just change the Force Speed to be exhaust to increase that unit's speed by 1 during that activation.

I'm thinking ideas right now so they may not be good, but it could be:

Force Sense: exhaust - action - next round your opponent must play it's command card before you choose yours

Force Heal: (light side only) exhaust - free action - recover up to 2 HP. You cannot use this action while in melee

Force Lightining: (dark side only) exhaust - free action - choose an enemy trooper unit at distance 1. That unit suffers 3 wounds. This is treated as an attack action.

Dunno why this should be Light Side only. In Episode III, we see Palpatine do the healing touch power to Anakin on Mustafar just like Ben Kenobi does to Luke on Tatooine after the Sandpeople waylaid him. I feel that justifies its use on both sides.

Was that a heal or a scan?

I took it as a heal. Was there ever a more explicit use of a healing spell by a force user in a Star Wars movie? Seems like if the force was ever used by someone as a healing power, that's the example. What have I overlooked?

I personally think healing is not a good idea, being able to keep heavy-hitters on the table longer than you ought could throw the balance out of whack.

I was thinking of Obi-Wan sneaking around the Death Star, so a stealth ability that, on the round it was exhausted, lets the user move normally out of engagement, and may move through ground vehicles.

Luke is already disgustingly mobile, so any new force powers that improve mobility would have to be dark side only or anti-synergistic (For instance, exhaust as a regular action to perform a speed 2 move that ignores difficult terrain). Exhausting isn't sufficient, since Luke doesn't mind taking a refresh action to get two force powers back (Force Reflex+Mind Trick is obnoxious enough. Giving Luke a reposition instead would be downright toxic, especially when that move got him into melee).

My thoughts...

-Terrify (Dark side only*) You have Cover 1 against attacks from range 1-2

-Force Suspend: When performing a ranged attack against a trooper unit, you may exhaust this card to gain ignore cover

-Inspiration (Light Side): (Free action, exhaust): Remove one supression token from another friendly unit at range 1.

*Because the last thing Luke needs is heavy cover in the open after a single supression token, and Palpatine and the Grand Inquisitor both make sense for characters with no surpression value.
