I have a question about lightsabers and Hardpoints, I noticed that lightsaber hilts and the lightsaber with installed crystal have the same Hardpoints yet lightsaber crystals have HP requirements so... I'm curious how this works, is it just the base crystal that uses no hard points? or am I just super confused.

No. The lightsaber Hilt has a specific number of customization hard points. A lightsaber crystal takes up one or more of these hard points, usually two, though some only take up one and others can take up as many as four. When you add a crystal, this does not reduce the total number of hard points the hilt has. Rather it only reduces the number available for other upgrades.

That's what I thought but if you look at the Basic lightsaber it has 5 hardpoints and a crystal, but then the basic lightsaber hilt which has no crystal still has 5 hp

Remember, that if you’re using the lightsaber crafting rules in Endless Vigil , it’s possible to make a lightsaber with more (or fewer) hard points. There are also talents that allow you to add additional hard points to the weapon, namely Tinkerer and Intuitive Inventor .
