Imperial conversion unboxing, a PSA.

According to FFG, all the upgrade cards from all conversion kits are the same. That way a Rebel player doesn't have to buy the Empire kit just to get a copy of 'trajectory simulator' or something like that.

I don't think that's right. They've said you won't have to buy another factions ship to get an upgrade, not that everything will always have all the same upgrades at the same time. So I would expect to see the Trajectory simulator in one of the wave 1 ships or a wave 2 ship for the rebels.

Was trajectory simulator even in the Rebel conversion kit?

No, but there are no rebel ships that have both the system slot and the device slot, so it doesn't matter.

BE MORE EXCITED ABOUT THIS FORUMS

WHAT THE ****

Can everybody stop freaking out about generics now?

This has demonstrated once and for all that there will be enough pilot cards and bases to run any number of pilots in any configuration up to the number supported by the dials. If this is true for the Imperial conversion kit, it must be true for the Rebel and Scum kits too.

Also, Vessery is back and completely un-nerfed. Turr Phennir is back and even better. Get hype!

Was getting anxious going through all the posts until this confirmed Vessert is back. Am relieved now.

All glory to the hypnotoad...err empire.

“Must be”? But we already know what’s in the Rebel kit, so we know it ain’t so.

It's not even true here - the Lambda and TIE interceptor both have more dials than generics.

Edit: So do the Gunboat and TIE aggressor.

Nice catch!

One thing about Vessery; he doesn't specify that the lock has to be from an ally now. So if M9-G8 is a thing, Vessery attacks, then gains a lock on the locked ship. :D

This was the case in 1.0, too. Never quite got it to happen, but definitely possible.

So where is Valen Rudor on Tie Defender ? :P

Tie swarm will be a scary thing ! The new pilots are awsome ! And all the Lambda pilot are useful !

Seventh Sister on the Tap with a nice ability ! To bad we lost the V1 title...

Now I know what I will fly ! :)

Nobody in there could take it, right?

I bet he’s in the interceptor pack in wave 2. Better be!

Bomblet Generator is not unique?

Major Rhymer can attack at range 0-3 with Cluster Missiles? He's Arvel... ish.

No worries I freaked out too but the answer is simple. Buy the card only xpacs when they come out and throw away or keep the extra dial but either way you’ll likely want the new pilots. The dials are going to be the only excess and only for the shorted sets, so no big deal.

It's not a problem for the empire at all, I think - two kits lets you build basically anything, except for really bizarre stuff like 5 gunboats or 4 Lambdas. The only issue is 5 interceptors, which you see occasionally in 1.0.

The Rebel kit, which shorts generic pilots for the A-wing and Z-95 seems like a bigger deal - those are both traditionally used as swarms of generics.

Meh, not sure how rebels will be affected but 2 kits is never the answer. For most people there will be a ton of waste in 2 kits. I got 1 of each and there will likely be cards I can mix and match but I’d have no way of making 2 kits in any faction worth it. As long as their plan is a booster pack idea and not stupid priced, anything more than $10 a booster is robbery, I will be able to fill in holes adequately and have reason to want the new pilots instead of flushing x dollars just for a few pilot cards and upgrades. The conversion kits are a starting point not full conversions.

Wait, that's actually REALLY good - he can unload missiles into someone touching him then. I missed that, but it's the same phrasing used on Oicunn's new ability (can attack at range 0). Being able to block someone and then shoot them without them being able to shoot back is a big deal. Or at higher PS, ram them. Hello, Dauntless.

So I have a question for those of you who suffered through EAs latest bowel movement. Were all of Inferno Squadron traitors to the Empire, or was it just Iden?

Iden and Del were the turn coats. Seyn isn’t in the game, so not sure about her.

Jerrjerod can allow all your ships to perform a red boost in the same direction every other round

Tarkin can allow all your ships to copy his target lock every other round.

Is it just me or do those both both sound like amazing abilities?

I am thinking the gunboat cannon configuration allows you to fire HLCs, but only rolling 3 dice instead of four. Also would it make an ion cannon at range one not get it’s close range bonus die? Need clarification on these.

Liking the Seventh Sister as both a pilot and crew. Had kinda wondered about her being Mara 2.0, but she 7th crew is a neat ability. And 5th Brother is nice.

Yeah, miss Mutten Chops having defense bonus, but like him still being relevant after the target is dead.

Still salty that Juno got renamed, but maybe she’ll return...

*Friendly* ship. It is relevant, but it is not good.

scratch that, I'm an idiot

Major -Busta - Rhymers can fire range 1-x ordnance at range 0. It seem super good to me. Kind of a way to counter the double fire of VCX or veterant gunner.

Lambda + title and Vessery. Vessery has to be 100pts? Right. I mean he is already nasty in 1.0 with a 3/3/3/3 line without a boost.

7th sister crew is just...****. With all the red linked actions now, she is just straight up denial. And best part is, she isnt an expensive ship like carnor jax. Just a crew.

Oh, and I found the mistake:

I'm happy to see that with the two TIE/ln dials in the 2.0 box, I'll be able to run 6 TIEs without having to buy another conversion kit. Granted, I have 8 now, but that means I can now use the extras to do some damage mods and different paint schemes. I never ran with more than six TIEs in 1.0 anyway- I always had a couple of the more expensive TIE pilots (can't really call them aces because they fly in cardboard ships) along with Howlrunner. So far, I see that I have enough generic pilots to satisfy my whole collection of Imperials, and some of the new pilots look really good. I'm content at the moment, can't wait until I see what Scum have in store.

Holy moly all those unique crew are fantastic, especially Fifth Brother.

The big winner here, assuming the points are ok, is the frigging Punisher holy moly. Both of them are absolutely outstanding; Deathrain gets a full free action of his choice, not just a roll, and Redline keeps his original effect AND gains 1e FCS.

Punisher is a BEAST.

The Lambda is also an absolute beast.

The only big, big disappointment for me is Tomax, that is a MASSIVE nerf to him given that the TIE/sa's reload is red. RAC is a bit disappointing too, he can't use his ability when he's Locked that round - but then again, I shouldn't expect anywhere near as many ways of getting full mods as I've had in 1e, and I think he's supposed to have crew crew gunner so Fifth Brother and Inquisitor are options.

Barrage Rockets are super nice though.

It never did. He always had that effect with M9.

I had a friend paint me a golden defender for our boy Vess Dawg; so am super excited. I've not watched video but I will; am just hoping for Major Rhymer to be back.............
