A simple list concept.

Killing Kylo early probably becomes a lot harder with Reapers Jamming things. Basically, the question is whether these Reapers are better than Deadeye Rho GUNBOATS. Reapers have lower offense in 3 red dice, often unsupported, but opponents are unlikely to have defensive mods, but in jamming tokens, opposing lists will have a harder time doing damage. Rhos, however, prevent damage to your list by killing things. It's a trade-off, but the concept is probably reasonable.

I like it. As you say, less offense, but they prevent a lot of offense from your opponent. However, that is assuming that your opponent is using tokens - which is often unlikely these days...

I think they would wreck Kylo/Rho's in a head to head match. One reaper jams the rhos and they their ordinance is out. From there, the reapers will outdamage the Rho's. and surviving reaper or reapers can help in a kylo vs kylo battle.

with that said, it's not always going to be better. It'll depend on meta and matchups.

I mean, that's the big question. What wins head-to-head between Rhos and Reapers is only a mere fraction of matchups. Mostly, I wonder how Reapers would fare vs, well, anything else.

Reapers will do well against ordinance list, and I think they'll do well against move general list. Most ships like to take actions (captain obvious). Where it will struggle will be against things that don't. Expertise, predator, Dengar or Maul crew, glitterstim. They don't care as much, and than it's a low PS target. 8 hull and shield, plus 2 evade dice with LWF, will make them fairly hard to kill, so, as long as they take something off the board, or allow Kylo to, than I think they're a strong replacement to the Rho's

Lightweight Frame Reapers are a touch tougher than a gunboat, too.

But, yes. If you can fly right, the Reapers should handle the Gunboats one-on-one fairly nicely; each Reaper can handily suppress one gunboat's ability to fire missiles, and if both are firing unmodified primary weapon shots, the Reaper should come out on top.

I think more things are probably susceptible to losing tokens than not; simply because even if you've got expertise and dengar crew, you were still probably hoping for the focus token for your own evade roll...

Alternate option; if you wanted something which can inconvenience other ships which don't need tokens, you can swap the ISB slicers for Tacticians on a one-for-one basis. Even without a slicer aboard, a Reaper can still perform a Jam action, and a target which is Jammed and Stressed has some serious issues to deal with.
