Resistance Epic Ship?

By Animewarsdude, in X-Wing

Apparently will be used in the Galaxy's Edge additions to WDW and DL. Considering timing it could also likely show up in Resistance. The ship itself is used as a cargo and troop transport, though depending on actual size it might be another possible large ship for the Resistance instead.

I like it.

Is it large enough to be a huge ship?

It's too bad none of the ships in VIII were small enough. The smallest one is twice the size of the two corvettes we have now.

Looking at Legends New Republic stuff that's not the CR90 or GR75, there's the Marauder -class corvette, the Warrior- class gunship, and the Agave -class picket ship, which are all around 190 meters (according to wookiepedia, so that could be completely wrong).

Marauder would be kind of cool. The other two are kind of meh. I don't expect any three of them to happen, though.

What is WDW and DL?

I like this ship, if it is large enough, it can be done in actual scale to the ships, similar to the Gozanti assault carrier. Though it looks like it would be more comparable to the size of the ghost.

Honestly, I would consider buying a three pack of resistance bombers to play epic.

You think? I can’t get past the nose looking like it has the front of a cr-90 underneath all the extra stuff.

It is mainly the side door. Going by usual Star Wars methodology, the hatch will be roughly able for a 1.8m tall human to stand in it.

If it wasn't for that side hatch, I would say it could be bigger.

Every ship in the sequel trilogy is gigantic. Their run of the mill star destroyers can't fit Armada's scale :D

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge model updates

It looks sore of like some CR-90 and U-Wing hybrid. Supposedly it will be featured in the FO Assault ride with the audience starting out on it or the like. Based off the actual ride vehicle shown off at D23, I'm guessing it is mostly just part of a queue or preshow.

But, while looking for the ride vehicle I saw something that looked like the above ship in the land's prototype/display piece.

Based off the T-70 next to it looks like it will likely be a Large or Medium sized ship. Still, it at least looks a heck of a lot better than the Resistance transport we see in TFA, or its pod form, shown in TLJ.

And just found this in another set of pictures for it. So its called the I-TS, and has both forward and rear guns. So again, very much makes it a better transport compared to what we've seen in TFA and TLJ. Maybe it could be some form of Lambda for the Resistance to mirror the FO's Upsilon.

I guess the resistance transport was so ugly that they had to go pay some cal arts grad to glue a U-Wing to a CR-90. I would welcome this before any of the other remaining sequel ships that aren't in the game. At least this doesn't look hideous.

Another concept art image, it definitely rules out the possibility of it being an epic scale ship.

Not sure why the image got shrunk down, so I added the link.

Yep, definitely not epic.

Nice looking ship though. Way better than any of the original designs from the new films.

Resistance Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS)?

(Might be a picture of the BFS, but they look almost the same.)

Not a bad looking ship, could definitely be one of the first new ships for the Resistance in the future- I'd estimate it to be a Large ship, just based on the function. Support ship that is pretty similar to a Lambda shuttle with front/rear arc, lots of crew slots, and slower dial.

Well Armada still doesn't have any Resistance or 1st Order ships. We had Han Solo's frigate (the ones with the CGI tentacle monsters on it), and of course the OSD (order Star Destroyers). Then again they might go for more clone wars era ships because those are already out.

As I mentioned in another post it is possible to make the huge ships multi faction. I mean they had the Tantive IV in Revenge of the Sith making it a Republic Ship as well. We could give the 1st Order the Imperial Raider.

Cool design even If it is nothing exeptional. But with V2, I am wondering if I will pursue a collection of resistance and FO. Empire and rebels may be enough for me

I bet they are replacing the transport ride hat 3PO and R2 take you on now. It’s a simulator based ride with the seats moving up and down and wind blowing in your face. It also features chucks-cheese style 3P0 and R2 as pilots in front of the crowd.

If so, I’m hoping for a Avatar style ride up grade. (same concept but with a wrap around imax screen. Way cool)

I really like this ship. I want it in the game, so I can rip it apart with FO ships.

Well, first off, Star Tours is just a motion simulator, it doesn't feature seats moving up and down or wind, just light flashes from blaster fire and is an enclosed capsule with 3PO as a an audio animatronic in the front of the cabin with R2 and other elements projected on a side screen while the main screen effectively plays a film that is matched up to the video. Oh, and 3D glasses to add depth and to allow for a handful of possible effects ala the Naboo ending route. Granted, I still prefer the original version of the ride with RX-24, but alas it was replaced. Considering Star Tours' placement in Tomorrowland in DL and outside of the Star Wars Land area of WDW they will likely retheme the ride to another property which is a bit of a shame but is what is. On the plus side for people visiting DL it will likely be rethemed to Iron Man based off the fact there is a version of the ride in Hong Kong or Shanghai using the same ride vehicle.

For those interested in Star Tours, here is the original.

Behind the scenes if you want to see it actually in motion.

As a fun fact, the 3PO and R2 in the queue for DL's version are actually props from the OT films fitted with audio animatronic parts to move around.

As for Avatar, that ride is AWESOME! However, we won't be getting a ride like that for Star Wars Land as we already know the attractions being put in. The first is the FO Escape which features the props and concept art stuff above, and will likely be a dark ride using a simple ride vehicle that will follow a trackless route with lots of audio animatronic storm troopers and other effects with the guests hanging on as they try to escape. If you are interested, look into the Ratatouile ride from DL Paris that is being added to Epcot, it should utilize similar tech, though obviously punched up to eleven. The second is a Millennium Falcon ride where you (or at least one person in a group of 6) gets to fly the falcon with the ride likely using a suspended capsule allowing a range of motion to allow it to simulate flight. I know there is some really early test footage out on youtube that they showed off at one Disney convention. The rest of the area will include (supposedly) will feature aliens, droids and the like selling goods, wondering around, playing music, etc. There will even be a cantina there that can be visited.
