I'm really hoping Nera Dantels makes it back in the game somehow. B-wings are my favorite Rebel fighters, and I loved the idea of Dagger Squadron. I played the heck out of Nera Dantels both in tournaments and in HotAC (her pilot ability anyway). I won't go as far as to say I'd quit playing X-wing 2.0 over this, but losing a couple of my favorites (I really enjoyed Juno Eclipse as well) really stings. I'm just glad Kath Scarlet and the Binayre pirates are still around since I commissioned a professional painter to paint a fleet of them for me.
The Lost Legends, characters who appear to be gone in 2.0

He's one of the main characters in Lost Stars, which is a young adult novel from a year or two ago.
As for Wes, I'd be surprised if he doesn't make it back in at some point. I think there's just only so much room for X-Wing pilots right now and they're trying to give equal share to all the canons.

A) She gets one sr two energy that she must use to fire outside forward. Getting it as a single **** makes it a bit less broken.
B) Limited to her forward 180.
C) Kiss it goodbye in favor of an entirely new ability.
‘Never read the comics with her, so don’t know if there was an in story reason she could fire torts 360.
As someone that tried to make Nera work, her biggest flaw was her pilot skill 5 (the worst in the world). It wasn't uncommon to see her get blocked so she can't make a single target lock then get finished off with a full load of torpedoes after she finally gets a target lock. If she is Int 4 then she will be just as unplayable as she was in 1st edition unless she has a broken pilot ability.

pretty much. and one thing we've seen is that the new versions tend to be closer to their movie/literary sources..like how they changed Corran Horn's ability to feel less like a jedi and more like how he was before i,jedi (which is when he would be flying the E-wing)
that might explain why Tycho is AWOL.. while Tycho might have been connected to the A-wing thanks to a retroactive ROTJ appearance (which has since been retconned anyway), he was best known for his part in the X-wing comics and novels, where he flew an X-wing. so they might be saving him for a future X-wing related release.. like maybe the rerelease of the rebel transport set or something.

Well, Wes actually gets namechecked on screen ("Good Shot, Janson!") so the odds are in our favour there.

She wasn't bad with Deadeye....but Deadeye itself is now (so far as it's in 2.0) a force ability. As noted, getting a lock to fire torpedoes in the first place can be a big issue with lower initiative (especially now FCS means you don't have to spend the lock but doesn't help you get it in the first place).
I dunno. More flexibility with torpedoes would be nice, but as noted a 360 arc would be over the top in a game trying to reign in out-of-arc shennanigans. Maybe letting her expend torpedo charge for some other benefit like the protectorate guy might work?
Gone... for now. We already know that the new expacs will include new pilots not in the conversion kits, and some way of getting the cards and cardboard without the models.
Looks like the Seventh Sister has killed a return of Mara in her current form. That would be a broken combo.

I'm not seeing the issue - tractor and jam tokens both go away at the end of the round so the only thing you'd get out of it would be the tractor movement on small ships.

ISB Slicers make you keep jam tokens, I think. but then you're up to a combo of three separate crew, which is hard to achieve.

Don’t forget Eaden Vrill!
He was by far the pilot I tried to get to work. Finally during the Dengaroo days he and Dash were an awesome Anti-Dengaroo list. Until the nerf of course.

Pretty sure Eaden's completely gone, now that his pilot ability has been baked into the Scum Falcon.
I also used Eaden a bit. He was fun.

I still hold hope for him in some form with the 2.0 release of the YT-2400. I can hope ...
Edited by JadotchThweek. The crazy Starviper pilot who got to mimic an enemy pilot ability.
Was Thweek in any of the old Legends stuff, or was he whole cloth created by FFG?

I thought Tycho was best known for flying a Z-95 with powered-down lasers and a remote-destruct device installed? Not that I'd complain if they gave him something else in the game, mind.
He was Rogue 9, flying an X-Wing and Green 3, flying an A-Wing during Endor (he's the A-Wing that flies into the Death Star and lures some TIEs away from Lando and Wedge). I hope to see him in both fighters.

Wes Janson getting Nera Dantels pilot ability confirmed!
What about characters who never even appeared? How the **** has Davish 'Pops' Krail (he of 'Stay on Target' fame) never even appeared in the game?!
Answer me that.

Hm, what would be a suitable ability? Maybe granting an ally within a range of 1 a bonus to torpedo attacks? IE turning a blank result to a Focus, or if the attacker rolls multiple focuses he can change one to a crit per the torpedo card, and the rest to hits?
I know we don't get Keyan in the conversion set but I an only hope they add him in the B-Wing expansion. Keyan, Steele, and Ace should be in the game for the sake of including the protagonists from the games that inspired this miniature game. It would be nice to see them add Steele back to the Defender, it would be nice to see Keyan back, and I personally would love to see the YT-2000 added with Ace being added to Scum so that the original 3 factions of X-wing each get one of the protagonists.

If they go with the idea of her staying with Karrde instead of the path she took in the books, I’d be pretty happy with that alternative. Could even be room for some feeling between her and Luke, but they never went through with it.
I'd be perfectly fine. Keep the fact she was a hand of the emperor, an agent that he made use of and that she was conflicted with the fall of the empire and having no love for the Rebellion. Have her go work for Karrde and while she might get adventurers alongside Luke if she didn't end up with him I'd be fine with that. She was really such a compelling character to me, maybe after the Thrawn books they might give Zahn a chance to write a book for her or the like.

X-Wing and Tie Fighters are ships that should be on the tables often, and I hope for 2.0 they will be treated as such. If any ship is to have a large number of pilots it should be those two. And hey, you know that if they did alternate paint jobs some people would eat those up, like Blue Squadron ones with pilots from Rogue One, Green Squadron ones from Rebels, or either a Rogue Squadron one with Legacy pilots or what I suspect will be some pilots being added to the Epic packs for those two ships.
