Could this work as a dodanna list?

By stev, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Im really unsure about objectives and wanted thoughts of the build.

Idea was to have multiple threats that use crits from bombers/hammerhead/mc30

Any feedback would super help cause i might bring it to a store championship!

Thank you in advance!

I like what you're trying to do with this list, but I'd be very tempted to replace the Pelta with Yavaris.

I struggle with low activation MSU having a good time in the current environment.

I just think in this case you are trying to do too much, and run out of points before you do any one thing well.

I can't really even give you a direction to meet success, because you are going so many different ways I don't know what kind of fleet you are actually trying to build.

Didn't the Yavaris nerf change it so you cant move and double top with ftc. For my level skill I don't think I would be able to do that reliable.

Is 5 activations thought as low activations? My mindset was to just build a fleet that fully utilizes dodanna crits and cover all bases from fighter damage to massive mc30 burst. Would it be better to combine the cr90 and mc30 into a mc75?

Correct, it cannot have moved during the Yavaris's activation.

I was also wondering if i should try to get ten nub into the fleet or not for aoe

5 is low with no bid and no large. For an MSU you are striving for 7, accepting 6, unless you can get 6 and a 15pt+ bid

Is 11 points too low a bid?

No! You are totally right! I glanced over it and thought I saw 399. That's pretty close.

And it's not to say these are hard and fast rules. I'm just saying that a fleet of all small ships is very susceptible to getting tabled right now unless they can create a favorable atmosphere for themselves.

What are your thoughts on this type of dodanna fleet I traded the cr90 and mc30 for a big boy?

I really like it. Honestly looks pretty polished and you could probably roll with it and do great.

If you were looking for tiny tweaks, I'd be hard pressed not to take yavaris. Thats just the reality of rebel squads. Yavaris is too good, and a pelta is a poor substitute. Raymus + title is 69pts, so you save 2 over the pelta and putting expanded hangars on the gr would give you the 6 activations you need.

Rapid reload also would probably be better as ex racks. Ecm is great but it turns the mc75 into an alpha pass boss. It wants to jump into position, nuke, and get out of there. It doesnt have the def tokens for a prolonged engagement. The points savings open up room for the hangars on the gr.

For squads i might swap one x for ten and swap the 2 leftover Xs in for a pair of yt1300s to keep gold (and in my mind ten) alive for an extra turn. They are gonna bomb way harder than the x's most likely. Norra is iffy. You have the Toryn/bcc investment to make her work, but its still a low chance of success. Bwings are best at getting value out of her. But there is always risk rerolling a hit/hit to fish for the crit. You might end up with acc blank. She maaaay be better just as a bwing. End result would be something like:

Jan (19)

Yt1300x 2 (26)

Ten Numb (19)

Gold Squad (12)

B-Wing (14)

Total of 90 points on 6 bases. Only 3 points more than as you have it written. It's also nice that it should be FAIRLY obvious which 3 ships yavaris wants to activate haha.

End result if you make all the changes above I think you lose 1pt of bid. So you still have a fairly good margin to try for first player.

Are you saying to use externs racks I'm confused and what is your experience with the Yavaris with the nerf on movement and speed 2 Squadrons as I have not has much luck getting it to work. In all I'm a little confused on your ecm comment.

what obj do you think i should use just in rare case im not player 1?

Sorry busy weekend :)

I like it! Got a lot of threat sources, activations, just looks like a really solid list. Be critical with your Norra use. If you aren't getting 3-5 shields out of her per game look at other bomber aces, or even a generic Bwing.

If you lose initiative by 1 pt cause of medical teams it would be sad. I know it's helpful on Yavaris to maaaybe prevent a damage card from coming through, but all in all that is the only thing that stuck out to me as being circumstantial. Hope you win many games with it!

Far as playing it goes - don't hesitate to use Ten Numb + 2x X-Wings as your Yavaris activation. You stand a reasonable chance of wiping a squad ball if you can get Ten off twice. And you really can't afford to have an enemy squad ball chipping at you. Once the X-Wings collapse, Jan will follow pretty quickly and then you will be tied down.
