4 Squadron Sloane?

By Cleto0, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hello everyone!

I have today a build that I kinda like. It is a Sloane list with lots of damage and still enough squadrons to take away those pesky defense tokens. Please give any advice that you think could help. This will be for a store championship, so don't take it too seriously. Thanks!?

I don't think you will get good use from Sloane. Even a small fighter opposition of say 4 A-wings will lock you up for 2 crucial turns and by the time you batter your way free you won't have many squadrons left to tip the battle against ships.

You could swap Sloane for Motti but a lot of your ships are small base. Screed and 3 sets of APTs may be fun. Jerjerrod looks most promising allowing the raiders and ISD to turn like mad avoiding arcs and getting into great firing positions.

If you Keep Sloane then drop both raiders for an Arquitens & DTT and 4 Tie Interceptors. Now you can fight free of fighter opposition with the extra punch and swarm rerolls the TIE-Is give you. Controlling them all is a little tricky but if the Gozantis bank a Squad token each on turn 1 it will help. Changing the ISD-K for an ISD-I could help too but you would need Price to keep the ECM.

I do have a Motti list ( Double ISD) that just won 2 tournaments, but I wanted to see if Sloane could work for only 4 squadrons. If it did, then I would be fine with leaving my squads back in the first few rounds to make sure that they couldn't get engaged early.

For Sloane to work with few squads you need to adopt the Jonus style squad wings.

Maarek, Jendon, Dengar, Zertik. Indeed only 2 do Sloane dmg, but Maarek is fairly reliable...

Is Dengar worth the upgrade?
