Servomotor/FAA Interaction

By DashBarrelRendarRoll, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just needed some clarification in regards to timings of actions/free actions granted by these two cards.

So, say I have an X-Wing fitted with both, Servo flipped to Attack, and I have FAA and meet all requirements for the free action.

Must I perform my action first or free action first? Asking this because if there is no limitations then I can do a boost/barrel roll or a barrel/boost in any order. If there is a limitation in the timing, then as stated on FAA, after I execute a manoeuvre, I must (well, may) perform a boost/barrel roll first, then I can only use a barrel roll (if I haven’t already, as per Servo flipped to Attack) or a standard focus/TL.

So, which is it? Thanks!

Free action first. After executing a manoeuvre comes before Perform Action.

Figured as much, but just wanted to clarify. Thanks!

Of course, you can do all sorts of shenanigans with Kullbee Sperado...

  • Fly with Flight Assist, then you can start your turn in either Fight or Flight mode, then plan on using your reposition to flip to either side.
  • With BB-8, You can start in flight mode, reveal a 2-bank (which turns green), perform a barrel roll, flip the S-foils, then execute your (now) white 2-bank.
  • If you have Push The Limit, you can use one reposition, flip S-foils, then use the other, and flip S-Foils right back.
