M12-L Kimogila Cockpit Size

By Vondy, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The M12-L Kimogila Heavy Starfighter is built for Hutts. Hutts are a bit larger than most humanoids. Sometimes, a lot larger. In your assorted opinions, would it be reasonable to assume to cockpit could be modified to have two human sized seats? A pilot seat and passenger seat?

Sure, cup holders and foot massagers included.....

I dont find it reasonable that hutts would be in starfighters actually. One high g turn and the bucket of frog things would be all over the cockpit! :)

Yeah, tho. At least two human sized seats.

Actually, based upon everything I read (and know about the Hutts), it's not intended to be piloted by Hutts, just their underlings.

Also, MandalMotors sold them to other parties in addition to the Hutts.

Well, I'm going to assume a modified cockpit with a jump seat for a passenger is within the realm of possibility.

And cup holders, every time I balance my whiskey bottle on the console it spills....

Whiskey in sippy-cups.

This system doesn't really care about the size of an individual. If it says Passengers 1, that's one Chadra-Fan (Sil 0) or one Dowutin (Sil 2). That also applies to the Pilor or other crew member, regardless of Sil. Silly, yes, but this game is terrible like that as far as verisimilitude goes. Someone that appreciates this can now come in and make a positive statement like, "it's all, like, a part of the narrative, man."

... or we could assume that the system goes by human averages and unusual situations and species will have to be abjudicated via GM fiat. Terribly speciesist, I know, but that's how things are.

Or just that this isn't old school AD&D and we don't need a table and rule for everything.

I'm only asking for a bit more detail to be paid to the Silhouette rules for characters. As it is, Silhouette has no bearing on the Encumbrance a character can bear, nor on how much it takes to bear said character (all characters are Brawn + 5 if you have to carry or store them). Instead, we get Silhouette rules that only apply to combat checks, and for personal scale combat, rarely even those.

Do Hutts actually fly fighters? lol. I assume that meant the Hutts had them built, but had their minion races pilot them.

While it doesn't seem that Hutts piloted starfighters themselves (with one notable exception), if you will be modifying the vehicle anyway no reason you can't add a second seat.

Mechanically, there are all the benifits of a copilot including operating 2 weapon systems a turn. But I can't see that being overpowered, when many 'heavy' starfighters are two-seaters anyway.

Now, when my players crammed a Gank, a Wookiee, and a Vornskr into an unmodified y-wing I for sure upgraded their piloting checks, but that's a different situation.
