So I just got the Saw's Renegades expansion. Looking at the second edition cards I can't help but wonder where the point cost and the list of equippables is? How do you know what can be equipped to a ship in 2nd ed?
Question about 2nd Edition
A rock under you have been.
Couldn't resist... Yeah, no one knows until the app is released. Hopefully at or around Gencon but definitely by the 13th of September.
Edited by Jo JoFFG will drop an app in late summer(?) that has all of that.
Doing it that way allows them to change points and upgrades ongoing. They can rebalance things or create special tourney conditions. A great idea if you ask me.

There is an app, a website, and a PDF. They'll change point costs a few times a year to help with balance. Upgrade slots are also listed in the app, making it possible to change those over time for re-balancing and improving theme if needed.

Half the ship info will be on a phone app? Weird!
I think another of the intentions behind it is to clean up the interface. Point costs and upgrade symbols are useless once the game begins, (not to mention subject to change with the so they where chopped.
It's so that they can use the playerbase as Beta testers to help them figure out how much points something should have costed after they've already released it, instead of actually hiring intelligent people that understand the mathematics of game development like Bob Randall aka MajorJuggler, who has consistently proven in the past that correct points costs for ships and upgrades can be accurately predicted.
Everybody wins.

Also to clarify, you do not need the app with you when you're playing the game. You can build the list, then export it and print it, so you have a paper copy to take with you. This should be fine if you're only planning to play specific lists on a certain day.
If you often play with groups that change lists on the fly, you'll need either the app, a computer that can access the website, or the PDF whenever they start releasing those.

Or the quick build cards, which were strangely absent from wave 14.

True. Hopefully they will find a way to give use quick-build cards in other ways, such as in the app. We also know (or at least strongly thing?) we aren't getting quick build cards in the conversion kits.

Yeah, no quick build cards in the conversion kits. Hopefully they will be included in the wave boosters.
