Snowflakes not taking criticism well? Now thats what I call freedom of speech: express your opinion using strong words, mature language, and you get censored asap:D While sort of understandable they want to keep their platform civil.

You have no right to free speech on a private platform

Private Platform open to the public forum. They need to pick their battles I say.

They want private and iron grip over what we say, they need to become a communist nation based company. They are based in America they need to respect the amendment freedom of speech. This isn't communist or dictatorship nation. (Political Humor Implied)

Freedom of speech in the US means that the GOVERNMENT will not curtail what you say. A private company, on their owned forums, can totally edit or delete whatever they wish, and even ban you, without having to justify themselves whatsoever.

With that said.....doggone it, FFG, throw us a bone or something, we are starving over here!!!!!!

Now I really want to go on one of those conspiracy-theorist rants about how the United States is a cawmniss' government-nation, and how the NFL-CIA is working together with the Federal Reserve Bank and the Rothchilds - not to mention the Chineeeeese! - to take away your right to say diddlysquat. Also, they're why my AOL dial-up connection is going slow right now.

But anyway, where were we?

Oh, right, June is almost over and no articles.

Boo! Hiss!

"Something Big" was actually X-Wing 2.0, they just accidentally said it to the Armada players, but don't care enough about us to correct themselves.

The only "something big" for us is disappointment and tears.

Though perhaps now that we know FFG responds to abusive posts regarding their mothers heritage, perhaps we can begin getting their attention...

"Yup, something real big is coming to our game that features Star Wars starship battling it out. Wait, you mean Armada and X-Wing aren't the same thing? Crap, uh...Lets just ignore the issue and deal with it after we get out X-Wing 2.0!"

I think the earliest we can hope to get info is Gencon, though possibly not until a week or two after X-Wing 2.0 drops so as to not remove the hype for that game. Of course, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

(Not necessarily for you ?)

But For the record, official drop of 2.0 is Mid September... the 11th or 13th or something ?

So Work that into any “dire predictions “

MODS ≠ FFG Marketing

Better off sending an E-mail. (like I said earlier) The mods just clean up naughty images and smack bottoms of mean people. They don't report back the bottoms smacked to the marketing department.

After some reflection, complaining on here isn’t doing me any good. I really do need to attempt to keep a positive attitude and enjoying the product that I do have. At least for a few more months.

I do think at this point that the title can be changed from almost over to just plain over.

Does anyone actually play that game?

The only time I've ever seen anyone playing Runewars was at the Gencon NA Championship in 2017. There were, maaaybe, 18 people in the entire event. I've never seen so many empty tables at an FFG Official event before. Even as an Armada player, I felt kinda bad for their playerbase.

The game is probably decent, but the minis are ho-hum compared to what other companies can make these days. And the super generic "bland Fantasy setting" IP of Descent probably does it no favors.

Ootl what are these posts about people being disappointed and mad over Armada?

is it bc there hasn't been a new release? Man I have been enjoying the **** out of that. I hate anything more than 2 waves a year.

i am completely done with Xwing bc of it. They completely flooded the market with product isn't even the main line stuff. Made it to easy to check out once all the original ships were collected. If it was 1 cool addition at a time it would be more appealing to accept new ships.

There is no happy medium with FFG. Xwing released stuff way too quick, Armada is a bit slow.

I can deal with somewhat slow releases but some info/previews would be nice.

If I hadnt heard from people that there are things being playtested, I’d be legit worried FFG was ghosting us.

Even if I knew I wouldn’t. But I don’t. There are NDA’s there. It was merely confirmed for me that there are unreleased things that have been or are being playtested.

I think at this point, in exchange for keeping a playerbase to sell these alleged in playtesting models to, they might forgive a slight NDA breach.

"Yeah, we're hoping one of our playtesters breaks their non-disclosure agreement they signed."
"But we're not going to produce an article and just tell people what those playtesters have been doing?"
"No."

"We decided to try a new strategy, silence, it seems to work well for popup hipster bars."

"So we've given up on armada players?"

"Yes."

"Isn't that a little contrary to our goals as a company in a licensing deal?"

"Yes."

"So we aren't going to try to stop this IP disaster?"

"No, the forums have demanded an NDA breach, and everyone knows the forums are the best source for opinions on the game."

Rumor has it that it'll be the SSD, but large contingents on this forum say that it's either impossible or a bad idea.

I believe the rumors, but am afraid they'll screw it up like X-Wing epic.

Fun fact: the Netrunner devs and playtesters were almost certainly working on things too when that game was canned, it seems. Also, there's a long history in the gaming industry of fully designed and finished products never hitting store shelves, for a whole host of reasons. For instance the old AvP CCG's second expansion set, Atmosphere, was fully designed, tested, and formatted and was literally at the printers about to start its print run in two days when the company publishing AvP:CCG decided to pull the plug on that game and called the printer to cancel the order and replace it with another product. This was after publications had run ads for the set and some of the cards had been previewed and spoiled for it. I can assure you the devs and playtesters were as surprised as anyone else when that happened... ugh, such a good CCG, such a tragedy. Heck, X-Wing itself has what.. two or three product numbers that are missing "gaps" in the known releases, causing players to speculate a great deal over what products got eventually scrapped or dropped that had initially been planned (and possibly even designed).

Just because a company is testing or has finished testing something doesn't mean squat in the end. The only thing that matters is whether that product makes it to distributors or not, as nothing before then is assured.
