Scum Falcon wing men

By player2456237, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi all,

For me part of the fun in x wing has been finding thematic lists to play.

Any ideas what pairs with the scum falcon? I can't think of a ship that fits the time line.

The Scuurg is one of the oldest ships in the game of X-Wing, if not the oldest. So maybe Nym or a squad of Z-95’s depending on points in 2.0. Z-95’s were around for a good while before the Empire as well.

A quick Wookiepedia search of the scum ship types currently in the game indicates there are a few that would have been available during the Rise of the Empire era, although there are fewer if you use only Canon material, aside from other YT-1300's:

JM5k was introduced in the waning years of the Republic (legends)

YV-666 is known to have been around during the clone wars (Canon)

Scurrg H-6 (noted above) was at least flying in prototype form before even ep1 (legends?)

Z-95 Headhunter (also noted) also predates ep1 in legends , but in Canon was initially produced during the clone wars. Either way you could expect some in the 'for hire' sector.

Y-wing versions also made it to the private sector after the clone wars (Canon)

Fang Fighter was also active with at least one squadron during the Clone Wars (Canon skull squadron ) I'd give bonus theme points here for somewhat matching paint jobs :)

That's all I could think to look up of the top of my head. As for what pilots were active during the Rise of the Empire era and would have had the opportunity to cross paths with any of the pilots in the expansion pack, I'll leave that wiki-walk for another time.

Almost forgot the Slave I ! Which we all know was flying around before the Clone Wars and still active during the the time of the Empire. I'm unclear on the timing of when the Firespray-31 went to full production ('many years later' according to Wookiepedia) and Slave I was a one-of-six prototype and presumed as the only active example until they reentered production...

Of course the ability to make a reasonable squad containing both a Lando-Falcon and these ships is entirely dependent on the point values given by the app, which is not yet released.

You can guesstimate though. The Scum Falcon is between the Outer Rim Smuggler and Resistance Sympathizer in chassis, and with the major loss of attack dice, it's probably closer to the former in price, placing it somewhere around the 55-60 point range. Double the cost of whatever you want it to fly with, and you should be able to fly them together as long as there's some spare points in the end. Just focus on the primary elements you want for your squad, estimate using 1.0 to get a rough idea of costs, and worry about maxing out your squad when you fully know what you can get.

Used that to guesstimate my IG-88A + L3 Falcon (with Lando/IG-88D Crew) + Guri squad idea should be possible with leeway for a couple upgrades, as long as IG-88D (Crew) still exists. You can run 3 Aggressors now, so they can't cost any more than 66 points. Guri, if she costs similarly to 1.0 with Mk2 upgrade, should be around 54. L3 probably would be one of the cheapest Falcon pilots because low Initiative/Calculate instead of Focus/situational ability, so it's likely she'd be near the low end of pricing and no more than 60 points. Add up 66+54+60, and I get 180, which should be plenty of room to account for Lando/IG-88D, ships being more expensive than I expected, and extra upgrades (including ideally the Falcon title)

*I haven’t seen Solo yet so take this comment for what it’s worth*

No. You can’t fly the Falcon and Slave I side by side. My original trilogy mindset just won’t allow it to happen.

I mean, it's *LANDO's* Falcon, and he totally collaborated with Boba Fett in Empire Strikes Back.

Ha, Valid.

None. :P

From what the last article gave us, it looks like it might be the 'Scum Ghost' in that its sort of a list within itself.

Nothing actually fits thematically, but if going by pure timeline, Z's and Y's fit.

There's no point using the ORS as a point guide. Its pretty much a totally different ship. Even with 2 dice, with scum crew and gunners and I6 Han's ability to add dice, its much better than the ORS. It'll most likely be more than a 27pts equivalent. Our flight group reckons it'll be around 70-85pts (depending on pilot), with the pod costing around 30ish for roughly a 110pt base without upgrades with it docked. Any cheaper than that and its broken.

Also, the timeline is vague as to when other Firespray-31 hit the scene so you could argue for the other pilots/title if Boba runs afowl of your theme.
